Outfit Of The Day – 94 Shades Of Summer SA- Tropical Green

94 shades of summer

Welcome to the last week of January guys! The year is already flying by so I hope you are keeping to your New Years Resolutions and making the most of 2015. Today it is time for the third week of the 94 Shades Of Summer Contest SA, and another shade of summer that I love is green! Especially tropical green because it makes me feel all holiday-like( starts singing If You Like Pina Coladas).

I got this dress over a year ago, and this was the Rihanna dress from the limited edition Henry Holland for Mr.Price range. I love this dress so much, also for the fact that I can wear it in summer and in winter. But the problem with this dress is that it was one of the most memorable ones from the collection, so I can’t wear it out too often because people remember this dress. Last year at the Skip Fashion Exchange a funny thing happened- I decided to wear this dress because the weather turned bad last-minute, and this dress looks bad-ass with a pair of tights, black booties and a leather jacket. I threw on a pretty necklace and a red lip and headed off the the event…only to find the nights MC, Alexis Chaffe-May wearing the same dress! Eeek talk bout biatch stole my look? Luckily Alexis was super chilled about it and broke the ice by making a joke out of it, and later we posed for pictures together. But this is the thing with beautiful dresses like this one- everyone wants them!

Todays take on the dress is a fun, summery one. I paired the tropical dress with orange accessories for that tropicana feel. I love these orange shoes, and the Michael Kors clutch that I use as a purse, was a Christmas gift from my folks. The necklace was gifted to me by my friend Cassi, and for once I left my hair running wild. This is what my hair looks like at the coast, about an hour after straightening it. The humidity makes my hair go mad, so I am looking a little 70s diva here with it, but hey why not?

Even thought the weather in Cape Town is grim and grey, this post injected some summer realness into my day. Love that dress, sometimes MRP gets it so right.
