How is it already the last day of 2015? December flew by in a flash for me, I barely got the feeling that it was Christmas, and now its New Years Eve. I wanted to recap 2015 on my blog, which I will do in the next few days because even though I am on holiday, I am finding myself to be extremely busy! I feel like I haven’t had a chance to slow down, but maybe a spa day before staring work next week will help? New Years Eve is always a rather sparkly and glamorous occasion and no matter what you are doing tonight, make sure to add a little sparkle to your outfit! After all she who leaves a trail of sparkle is never forgotten 🙂
I have always loved all things sparkly and pretty, so its no surprise that I had a few shiny make-up items in my collection. I love adding a little glitter on New Years Eve, and here I have a few quick sparkly ideas for you. Add a little glitter nail polish, eye shadow or lip-gloss to your look and have yourself a ball of a time!
This is always the easiest to add to your look, and the most fun! Playing around with nail polish is one of my favorites pastimes, and here are two great colors that you can pair your outfit with tonight. Essies’ Jiggle Hi Jiggle Low is a gorgeous metallic gold color that shines on its on.
You can see the swatch of it over here, and it’s a gorgeous addition to an outfit.
Mavalas’ Pure Diamond silver polish would look great on top of another color such as a solid red or even a black. It paints on very lightly and just leaves that hint of sparkle on your nails.
Eyes are the windows to your soul, so make sure they have that sparkle tonight! MAC is releasing a collection of Foiled Shadows, which is very easy to apply and it stays on like a bomb. This brown color(called Joy Toy) will work nicely as a base color for a smokey brown eye, or added to the bottom of your lids will add some sultriness to your make-up.
If you are interested in an all out disco fever tonight then sweep this pretty Gosh Forever Eye Shadow Stick in Grey(05) all over your lids. Its in a stick form and is very easy to apply, you can see the swatch of it over here.
To be honest, I am not the biggest fan of lip-glosses, but on a night like this, the more lip gloss, the better. I am a fan of this Woolworths Plum&Pout Gloss in Rosebud, which has a gorgeous shine to it, but is not very sticky. It looks gorgeous on its own (just layer it a few times) or on top of a dark maroon lippie.
Happy a very Happy New Years Eve tonight, and make sure to stay safe! See you in the New Year 🙂
