The wonderful Bronwyn from Mother City Mom was kind enough to send me an amazing gift off my wish list! I had the Stila Convertible Colour on my wish list in Petunia and since I was being silly and didn’t realize that that shade was not available, Bronwyn send me the Stila Convertible Colour in Peony- a darker nude shade.
What they say:
“Stila Convertible Colour is a versatile lip and cheek colour, in a pretty mirrored compact.
This creamy formula gives a sheer wash of colour to the complexion and glides on smoothly, brightening lips and cheeks. The non-greasy texture applies effortlessly – simply tap colour onto the cheeks and press onto lips for fresh, radiant colour. A must-have for your handbag, Stila Convertible Colour is your key to chic”
What I think:
: It is just so pretty! The pink compact is so gorgeous and for a while I just wanted to stare at it without even using it. The colour of the inside matches the colour of the compact and makes it look even more gorgeous. Besides, Sarah Jessica Parker used the Stila compact during one of the episodes of Sex and the City. It was meant to be.
As promised, it is a cream-based. The texture is very smooth and goes on evenly onto your skin. I only needed a couple of goes around the compact to grab the colour. It blends in very easily on both the cheeks and the lips. I would not recommend however using a brush to apply this. Just your fingers will do for this one, and it would be a nightmare to try washing your brushes after this!
: A big thanks to Bronwyn for picking the right shade too! It is a perfect mixture of nude-and-peachy. It looks a lot darker in the compact then it actually comes out onto the skin. It looks peachy on the cheeks (see photo) and nude on the lips. It is just what I need for varsity- pretty but not over whelming.
|I don’t know why the colour didn’t translate on the photo but I promise it shows up in real life…
The Versatility: I have never tried a two-in-one product before, and so far I am impressed. The fact that I only need one product for both my lips and my cheeks and that I can apply it with my fingers and not have to carry an extra brush in my bag, is perfect! It really is a must in your handbag.
The Longevity: The colour on my cheeks lasted the whole day. Even on a hot summer day when I was running from an event to a lecture room, my cheeks stayed pretty and peachy.
The only criticism I can give the product is that it looked a little dry on my lips. Next time I will try put a bit of moisturizer onto my lips beforehand, or maybe scrub them so they don’t chap.
The Bottom Line: I would definitely suggest you go out and buy yourself one! There are 5 shades which range from this one to a bright orange and a pretty pink, so you will find one that will suit you. They are incredibly useful and will save you space in your make-up bag!
The Price: The Stila Convertible Colour Lip and Cheek Duo retails at R255 and you could buy it online at Style 36 and Zando or in-store at select Woolworths and Foschini stores.
