Hello guys, how is it Wednesday already? This week is running away from me, but I am also planning a whole bunch of awesome content for December (yay for Christmas!) so this week I will be wrapping up a few reviews and outfits from November. First up today, is something that I have been wanting to share with you guys for a while, and it is all about budget friendly hair care. Don’t get me wrong, I love luxury hair products but its price tag is not for everyone! Today’s products are all wallet-friendly, and four of them should actually be in an “Empties” post, because I finished them a while back(which is a very rare occurrence for me)!
Lets start with the John Frieda Brilliant Brunette
Although this product is technically recommended for colored hair, I felt like it worked magic for me! With the ombre, and now the baby lights, my hair is a little bit damaged so it needs that extra nourishment which is what this range provides. It is a golden brown in color (I would show you, but its all finished) and it has a very distinct smell that might not be for everyone. It almost smells like chocolates, but a little bit sweeter. The scent is very strong so make sure to give this a sniff before purchasing as this scent might put you off. I especially love the conditioner because it gave my hair that extra little bit of shine and made it look all glossy and salon-like. I finished these products in about 2 months, and overall I think this is a great budget buy for someone with a little bit of dye in their hair that wants to protect and nourish it. The shampoo and conditioner retail for R100 each (and they also have this range for blondes called Sheer Blonde!)
Dove Oxygen Moisture
Dove recently added two new products in their hair care range, the Oxygen Moisture and the Dry Oil. I have been using the Oxygen Moisture for the past 2 months on and off, and I quite like it! It is recommended for flat, dull hair that needs a little bit of a boost, but because I already have a mane that I can barely control, I was a little apprehensive about using it. It definitely adds the volume to my hair, but I have to watch the weather on the days when I use this duo. My hair will get way too frizzy and big if there is already too much moisture in the air! I think this will be a perfect choice in the colder, winter months when my hair is lacking that moisture, but even in summer at such a good price it is a great buy. R70 each
Elvive Extraordinary Oil
I actually finished these two guys way back on August, and these are probably my 2 favorite hair products of 2015! The Elvive Extraordinary Oil Shampoo and Conditioner launched back in February, and it was love at first sniff for me. It smells a lot like Argan Oil, very rich and very luxurious. It is recommended for dry hair, so I was careful on how I used it- oily roots are my worst! This was the bomb during the winter months because it saved my sculpt from flaking and going dry and gave my ombre the much needed nourishment. I love this range and this is definitely a dupe for the Moroccan Oil range, at a quarter of the price! However don’t expect this to work miracles if you have super dry hair, I would suggest that this will work for light to medium dry hair (if that makes sense?). R50 each
Have you tired any of these before? Seriously some good winners here!
