I’m bending the rules here a bit by talking Mani Monday on a Tuesday, but hey why not be a rebel right? The truth is, time has just been running away from me once again, and I was meant to get this post ready for you guys last week already! Essie is my favorite nail polish brand, and today I am sharing with you its latest spring collection (take a look at the bridal one over here). As much as I love their permanent colors, I always look forward to their collections every season, as it’s usually something very fresh and exciting. This Essie Spring 2015 Collection is perfect for a garden party and the warmer season, so lets take a closer look!
This season find your inner Flowerista. Be Perennial Chic in a Picked Perfect floral fedora or the cutest Petal Pushers. There is such a Garden Variety this spring that striking-a-pose will be just Blossom Dandy!
As you can guess from the colors, this collection was heavily inspired by petals and seasons first flowers. The main shade in this collection is inspired by what Essie calls a “Flowerista” who creates her signature style from floral-inspired fashions and the exquisite beauty of gardens in bloom. This was the first color that grabbed my attention, because it is so bright and girly! As with all previous Essie polishes that I have reviewed, I used two coats of each color, plus the new Essie Gel-Setter Top Coat. This collection still has the old brush in it (you will see when I talk about the Summer collection, the brush is now much wider), which was as always, easy to use.The color lasts an average of 3-4 days, and I love that they really look like gel nails with this new topcoat! A bit more about each color(please excuse me if my nails aren’t painted perfectly- it is sometimes a pain to rush through 6 colors in a week :))
Flowerista
Flowerista, my favorite one, is a breathtaking beauty which is a plum dahlia color that is no shy flower girl. She is a force of nature and she knows it! Perfect for the weekend and a girls night out!
Petal Pushers
Petal Pushers is a smoky stone rose color that has all the mysterious allure of a forbidden walled garden. It is rather muted for a spring shade, but will work nicely for a night out.
Blossom Dandy
Another one of my favorites is Blossom Dandy that I also wore over here. It is an electrifying mint crème hydrangea that is just so fine and so dandy! It is fresh, energizing and oh so beautiful! It is a fun color for a Saturday picnic in the park or even a garden wedding.
Then the two more neutral colors that can be worm to work are Picked Perfect and Perennial Chic.
Picked Perfect is described as an “antique almond peony” color, but to me it looks like a chai latte! Very neutral but very pretty none-the-less.I had to photograph it with a flash due to yesterday’s thunderstorms in Jozi, but you can see that it is rather gorgeous.
Perennial Chic is a tawny tulip that makes for an ideal neutral that is always in style. Steve said it looks like the color of human skin so I would describe it as “nude”.
Garden Variety
And finally another very bright color to close off the collection is Garden Variety. The exotic teal blue orchid is a rare bloom that stands out in the crowd. It also has a crème texture and it is quite a fun color to wear this season!
This collection is at select Dis-Chem, Clicks and Foshini stores now and retails for R134.95 per polish.
