Last week Thursday I was lucky enough to be invited to the launch of an awesome new shop in Sandton City- Dune .The store specialises in beautiful footwear and accessorises. Dune is over 20 years old and has stores in 12 countries worldwide and I think it is really awesome that South Africa now also has a Dune store.
Pictures around the beautiful store.
The launch was organised beautifully and after we signed-in, we could snack on some chocolate-covered strawberries and high-heeled cupcakes (how cute?). The event was catered by Walnut Grove (Yum!) and we nibbled on mouth-watering snacks while looking at the shoes. My friend, Lady Zaa was also at the launch (read her post about the Dune launch here) and while we got our nails done with the Soho NYC ladies, the guys enjoyed themselves at the bar.
The yummy food

Now onto the shoes: Basically anything that your heart might desire, Dune will have. Whether you are looking for summer sandals to rock at the beach, leather court-shoes to wear to work or a sparkly pair of stilettos for a night out, Dune is your one stop for shoe-heaven. I “oohed” and “aaahed” over the women selection and these beauties really caught my eye.
How gorgeous are these shoes?
The boyfriend was also very impressed with the men’s footwear selection and eyed-out some formal shoes, and some casual shoes for every day wear.
The boyfriends selection.
The handbags are also pretty gorgeous, and come in all different shapes and sizes. And who doesn’t love a matching wallet? I especially loved the clutches (my current obsession) and at the end of the night we were treated to a stunning gift from Dune, a dusty pink clutch bag. It’s been with me everywhere I go, and my mom has been calling from Russia, asking if I can give it to her seeming as apparently I already have too many bags.I told mother I’ll get her one for Christmas because I love mine too much!
Price wise, the shoes start at just over R1000 for heels and a little under that for flats and sandals. It might seem like a lot of money, but for the quality that you get it is really worth it. Shoes so often make the whole outfit, so it is important to invest in a quality pair. And you won’t regret buying a pair from Dune because the materials that the shoes are made out of are really top-notch.

So next time you are shopping around Sandton City, pop into Dune which is located at the Upper Level, shop 34!:) Dune will also be launching in four Edgars stores come November :).
