Fashion News- Edgars Winter Luxe

Hello beauties! I hope everyone had a sunning weekend! My boyfriend and I went to the Eminem concert on Saturday night which was amazing! The weather however did not want to participate and it was raining the whole day, luckily the rain subsided by the evening so we could enjoy the show. However the bad weather only means one thing- winter is on its way in South Africa! While the rest of the world is going into spring, we are going into autumn. Itโ€™s no secret that I am not a fan of the colder weather- I love swimming and tanning, and I love the cute dresses and sandals I get to wear in summer. But this year there are a few winter trends that are getting me excited for the cold months! So since we are moving into winter, this week I have a few winter inspired posts on the blog. Iโ€™ll be talking about clothing and shoe trends to look out for in winter time and hope you enjoy it!

The first of my winter inspiration posts are on the Edgars Winter Luxe event that was held at the Turbine Hall a couple of weeks ago. Edgars really went all out and displayed a beautiful presentation on all of the major trends that they have to offer this season. I must say, Edgars is quickly becoming one of my favourite shops- they have recently stepped up their game by bringing in exclusive brands such as Lipsy, Lucky Brand and Tom Tailor Denim. Besides their in-store brands like Kelso, Free2BU and Charter Club they offer a selection from Forever New, Guess, Jo Borkett, Nine West, Accessorize, La Senza, and many more brands. I also especially love my Edgars Credit Card (although I try not to be too naughty with it).
This winter Edgars is offering a selection of beautiful clothes on many different trends. The major trends that are happening this winter are tartan, denim and leather. Grunge is definitely back and it has never looked this glamorous!
1. Denim Dandy
Top and Denim Jacket- Free2BU, Jeans- Guess , Shoes- Free2BU all available at Edagrs
Edgars offers a variety of denim brands- Levis, Guess, Tom Tailor, Salsa, Sissy Boy- you name it, theyโ€™ve got it! Double Denim is so last winter; it is all about Head-To-Toe denim this year. It might sound a bit scary but the trick to an all-out denim look is to keep the washes (the colours) of your denims different. The washes literally range from white to black with studs, zip and rip effects and come in different styles such as the skinny, the boyfriend and the straight. I love this trend and have already invested in a denim shirt. Bonus about having a denim shirt or jacket- they work lovely in summer over a pretty dress.
2. Tartan and Leather

Dress and Coat – Free2BU, Shoes- Kelso, all available at Edgars
Tartan is huge this season and its most popular shade is red. Red and black go so well together so mix the black in by wearing some leather (or pleather, which ever you prefer). Chunky boots with studs are still a big hit this winter and this look is very wearable for both day and night. Viva the 90โ€™s!
3. Winter Night Out
Knit and Dress- Guess, Shoes – Sissy Boy, all available at Edgars
A touch of sparkle is all you need to look fashionable this winter. The studs on the shoulders were big last winter and they are definitely here to stay. Again the touch of leather in the clutch always helps to look sexy and trendy.
Other trends include a hint of military

Chunky grey knits
White and beige tones
And beautiful faux fur (I love this!)
And here is some eye candy for you ladies. Nothing to do with trends but these guys were at the event advertising…oh I don’t remember what. You’re welcome.
Which trend are you most looking forward to this winter?

O’Connor said it was a “brilliant” touch for Westwood to use Jo Wood as a major figure in a show that otherwise consisted of much younger models.

Westwood also showed loosely-fitted, striped shirt-dresses; wide-collared jackets layered over longer shirts and trousers; and bow-tied bustiers with baggy jeans, held up by a single brace, slung crosswise over the body.
