Hello guys! I am currently in Sochi on a family holiday but the blog will still be running as usual 🙂 I got super busy last week with varsity, events, my first media trip(eek more on that later) and my first photoshoot for a magazine! It was an exciting week to say the least but I am back now with my regular blogging 🙂
I am so happy with the fact that it is finally spring in South Africa! September is also my birthday month, so no wonder it is my favourite month of the year. With spring come gorgeous collections that are all about this beautiful season- florals, pastels and bright colours make my heart skip a beat! I have recently also fallen head over heels for Ted. Baker that is. I am so obsessed with all of the bags, shoes and clothing that this designer offers and I have recently taken the plunge and purchased my first pair of Ted Baker shoes. A bag is to follow soon because I just cant resist.
The spring collection is simply breathtaking , and you can see the signature Ted Baker florals all over it. There really is something for someone in the collection, so I’ve split up my favourite pieces into 3 categories.
1.It’s Wedding Season
Everyone knows that spring is wedding season and no one does wedding attire better than Ted. I love the full black gown with the lace details at the top and the one shoulder silk floral perfection. The embroidery and the mint colour really draws me to the last dress, and you can add some pretty mint heels to it. Even the Ted Baker pumps are wedding ready-the gem details makes them look very festive. And don’t forget to add a pretty clutch to accessorise.
How gorgeous are these pieces? I am a lover of maxi dresses, especially when I am having a fat day(this dress is too gorgeous just for that though). The pleated details on the dress as well as the print make for the perfect weekend outfit. You can head for a picnic in these white trousers paired with a very funky building print top. And skorts are all the rage this season so grab one and pair it with this cute top with little bows. Also I am dying for this floral bag but more on that in my birthday wishlist coming next week…
3. Work wear made fabulous
Who said work wear has to be boring? I spend some time last week shopping for work clothes with my friend for her new job at Investec. I am all for having some basics in your wardrobe like black pencil skirt and pants, but its spring now so you can more fun with your work wardrobe while still keeping it professional. This powder blue dress with bows on it is perfect- it is so feminine yet it is an appropriate length and cut. The orange shift is a staple- you can dress it up or down with flats and rock any presentation. The jumpsuit is a little bit more out there with the boobtube cut, but throw on the pastel yellow blazer over it and you are good to go.
What do you think of this new collection? I am so glad that spring is here!:) Ted Baker is available in Stuttafords store and you can contact Janna Koppel PR for more information about the specific pieces in the collection. I also hear rumours about a stand alone Ted Baker store coming to South Africa soon…;)
