I love Grazia. I love Topshop. So when they joined forces to host a readers event, I was sure to be there. I booked my tickets early and good thing that I did because the space was limited to fifty people and there was a hundred people waiting list! It was a fabulous event and here is what went down.
It was held at the Topshop store in Sandton city. On arrival we got our photos taken and were treated to delicious sushi snacks. I went to the event with my friend Zaakira from www.princessofjozi.com and we browsed around the shop for a little bit before sitting down for the presentation. By the way, their 70% off sale is still on-check it out if you haven’t yet. Also don’t forget that students get 10% off all full-priced stock of Wednesdays!

We sat down to hear the Grazia team, which consisted of the Grazia editor, Danielle Weakley, the digital editor Cheska Liackman and the fashion assistant Nonkuthalo Xapile, take us through the latest spring trends. You can also check out the latest issue of Grazia for a full list of trends, and here are the ones I’m most excited about.
I put some pictures together from the Topshop website, and some of these items were shown to us on the night, so get in-store to check out all of this gorgeousness!
1. Head-to-toe colour- This is not for the faint hearted, but something that I love! I plan on wearing this trend lots this spring, with blue and fuchsia being my favourites for the look.
2. Oriental Inspired- How gorgeous are these kimono-inspired tops? Both of them are available at the Sandton store, and I especially like the one on the right for R900.
3. Monochrome- This was a hit in the winter and it is not going away anytime soon. Another trend you can work into monochrome- the tux jacket. Monochrome goes perfectly from night to day and works at every occasion, so make sure to invest in this trend!
4. Lady-Like Glam- I love dresses! I own close to 70 dresses (yes I know, it’s ridiculous) because it is my favourite item to wear. In winter I wear my dresses with tights and ankle boots and in summer just with some pretty sandals. This spring the lady-like trend takes a new spin with the added socks-and-shoes combo. I haven’t tried it before but it looks so cute and girly that I can’t wait to try it!
After the presentation, we got onto the shopping! Everyone got a 15% off discount on full-priced merchandise (awesome!). There was also a nail-bar, where we could get our nails done. The event was sponsored by BOS Ice-tea so we sipped on the delicious flavours while shopping away.
For dessert we were served the most delicious vanilla macaroons and pink-velvet cupcakes! Doesn’t this all just sound so divine?
And don’t forget about the goodie bag which included a Topshop tote, nail polish, phone case and diary as well as the latest issue of Grazia.

I could not stop my self from getting some goodies, and purchased the “All Over Glow” Illuminator, the “Bombshell” lipstick and this gorgeous necklace from the “Freedom” range( reviews on the beauty products coming this week!:).

There was also a really cool photo machine where they take your photo and place it on the cover of Grazia!

What I wore: The faux fur finally got it’s big outing! I have been itching to wear it since winter started, but haven’t had the perfect occasion to wear it to. I paired it with a shiny gold knit from Zara and my leather leggings from Mango. The Zoom clutch got another outing and my boots are from Legit.
It was a wonderful night and I cant wait for the next Grazia readers event!
P.S : Le boyfriends camera is broken beyond repair(my bad!) so I am saving for a proper, DSLR one. Bare with me for a few more weeks !:)
