As a blogger sometimes you get to attend really awesome events. The setting is usually somewhere trendy and stylish, the food is delicious and the drinks just keep on flowing. The Zando ShowLab event was no exception. It was held at the Melrose “Fire and Ice” Hotel where I just recently had my birthday tea. I met up with Leanne from Arum Lilea beforehand for drinks at Tasha’s after which we headed to the event. We were greeted warmly and got our tags and we were also presented with a R300 voucher to shop online at the Zando website. This was one event where starring at your phone was not considered rude because we only had until the end of the day to make our choice! Talk about pressure! I ended up ordering the Stila “In the moment” pallet which I have been eyeing out for a while, and thanks to Zando now finally own! 🙂
A little bit about Zando : The online shopping destination launched in January 2012 and since then is fast becoming one of the best websites to do all of your shopping on. Zando stocks clothes, accessorizes, make-up and beauty for ladies and for men. They also have an awesome décor section. They regularly have amazing sales and have some of the best brands around. My personal favourites include Stila make-up (yay!), Fate and Blackcherry Handbags. They deliver in 4-5 working days (or even less, my order was delivered in 2 days only) and accept cash on delivery in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg. The website is very user-friendly and has a mobile version, so your next purchase could be just a few finger tips away!:)
We were served delicious snacks and milkshakes (The most delicious Ferrero Roche flavoured ones) after which we were taken upstairs for the trend demonstration led by the beaitufl Zakirah. Here are the trends that are hot this spring and summer in clothing beauty and accessorizes.
My favourite is definitely the La Femme trend as I love anything girly.
After the demonstration we were taken to the gorgeous Apartments at the hotel. Each of the 3 apartments was set up to a different theme. The “Young Couple” suite had funky picture frames, gorgeous shoes and make-up. The “Working Woman” suite had a gorgeous La Perla travel bag and cream-coloured Mary-Jane heels. The whole idea was perfect because you could actually see how some of these items could fit into your wardrobe and real life.
And then things got a little bit savage. We were presented with a whole bunch of Plum shoes of which we could choose any pair that we liked. Finding your size, and finding it in time was the real challenge. Leanne and I both being a size 7, were lucky that our size wasn’t as popular and eventually both of us emerged from a pile of shoes with a pair in our size. I got these spikey orange and black platforms that I am hoping to wear soon! 🙂 And Leanne got the cutest beige heels with black bows on them.
. And even after the voucher and the shoes, it just wasn’t enough spoiling from Zando, and we were given yet another goody bag with some cute items such as hair chalk and nail polish in it. We ended the day with another delicious milkshakes!
What I wore: Pastel is my favourite trend for spring so I went in all sorbet tones to celebrate spring and the gorgeous weather that we are having! 🙂
Top : Cotton On
Skirt : Forever New
Shoes : Rage
Bag : Dune London
Neclace : Mr.Price
A huge thanks to Zando for having me there, it was heaps of fun! 🙂
