Hair Oil has become a constant trend in the beauty industry, and I don’t ever see it going away. What is a hair oil you ask? It’s a multi-usage product that protects, restores and even styles your hair. I have been using hair oils for about 3 years now, ever since I got introduced to my first hair oil from Moroccan Oil. Today I am sharing my favorite hair oils and what they do, as well as a giveaway!
All hair oils are different. They are made from different oils, have different textures, and different applications. Sure they are all closely similar, and a person doesn’t need 5 oils- one or two is more than enough. But I am addicted so every time I see a new oil, I have to try it. Half of these bottles I have bought for the second time, thats why they are still full. I’ve listed my favorite hair oils in this post, and trust me, I have tried many!;)
Moroccan Oil Treatment Oil
Best for- Dry hair and split ends
This was the first oil I was ever introduced to, and it still has a special spot on my beauty desk, although not such a large one as before. This smells delicious , and sometimes I even like putting some on my hands to moisturize them and just to have them smell nice. This has a VERY rich texture, so a tiny bit goes a long way. Make sure you don’t over use this oil- if you apply too much your hair will just look greasy and dirty. Have a little drop of it on your hands, warm it up and almost slide it throughout your hair. I use this after heat-styling my hair, when my hair is looking dull and to mascarde the split ends. This big bottle retails for R315(I got this smaller one at a beauty expo in a set) and there is also an option of it available for blonde hair.
Dove Pure Care Dry Oil
Best For- Everyday shine
This baby contains extracts of African Macadamia oil so it also has a strong, delicious scent. As far as drugstore products go, this is a winner. Last time I checked at Clicks it was just under R200, which is a steal considering it’s a 100 ml bottle. I use this while my hair is still wet, and run a bit through my hair. The texture is not as rich as that of the Moroccan Oil, so its a little easier to warm this one up.You can use this dry or wet, and it just gives your hair that little bit of a shine and a healthy glow.
Elvive Extraordinary Oil
Best For- Multi-usage
This oil has extracts of rose and lotus oil, and the best thing about this product is that its suitable for all hair types. I’m not a huge fan of the scent, and while all of the other oils are yellow, this one has a clear texture. This is great to have in your car, or on-the-go, because it can do everything- lift your hair, make it shine or take away the dullness. Only for a couple of hours of course, until the end of the night. For R169, its the cheapest of the bunch and the most handy if you just want to start testing your hair oils.
Pureology Precious Oil
Best For- Color and Heat-treated hair
Because I heat style my hair so much, I often find my self reaching for this oil before straightening my hair. This has the lightest texture of all of the oils, its consistency is almost like water. So its not heavy on your hair, and I use this as a heat-protecter. I don’t color my hair, so I wouldn’t know how that works, but from what I’ve heard, it also does magic. For R480 its a bit of a splurge, so make sure you enter this giveaway!;)
Inoar Extreme Premium Oil
Best for- Everything
This is my favorite oil ever, because it’s just amazing! I got this a while back in July, and I am almost through with it which makes me so sad. It has extracts of rose ,macadamia and myrrh oils, and it also has a rich texture, so a little goes a long way. What I love most about it, is that it can hide split ends after application. A real gem, and at R545 I still find it worth the price tag!
And for today’s part of the Christmas Giveaway, I am giving away 3 oils in one hamper! There are 3 Hair Oils up for grabs in the hamper- 2 Pureology Precious Oils and one Elvive Extraordinary Oil! For today’s entry just tweet me (@irinadoman) and say “I want to have healthy, shiny hair in 2015 with @irinadoman and I’ll Take It All Blog”!
