Hello beauties! I hope everyone had a lovely weekend! This week I am officialy back at varsity full time and start my internship at a PR firm! It is all very exciting but scary at the same time. We are already into the second month of 2014, can you believe it? This month I want to start a new feature on the blog in which I will write about my monthly beauty obsessions.
Every month there is always a beauty product, a lipstick and a hair product that I am obsessed with. Sometimes the obsession lasts a few months and even becomes my favourite. So I thought I would start sharing some of my favourites every second month or so. I still love summer and there is still sunshine in South Africa so most of these are summer-inspired products or scents.
1.Victoria’s Angel Fragrance Mist – I love this scent and the bottle! The bottle is the epitome of “girly” for me with hints of pink on the bottle and little wings on it. The scent has notes of plum, gardenia and violet so it is a rather fruity and flowery smell. It is not too heavy so it is perfect for summer time.
2.Revlon Scented Nail Enamel in China Flower- As many of you know Revlon recently released a line of beautifully coloured and scented nail polishes. They all smell divine and I will be reviewing them soon in a Manicure Monday post. This particular scent falls under the Fruity Smells(see a pattern with these obsessions of mine this month) and looks so pretty on my toes!
3.Soap and Glory Flake Away Scrub- Just before Christmas I ordered a Boots Beauty Advent calendar that had 24 beauty treats to open every day. My favourite products were the Soap and Glory ones as I have never tried them before and was blown away by them! The Flake Away Body Scrub has a very strong scent and contains shea butter, sugar and almond oils. The grains are not too hard yet do the job or removing dead skin cells perfectly. I would recommend this for everyone all year around!
4.The Body Shop Papaya Body Butter – I love The Body Shop and the smell of papaya reminds me of summer. The texture is smooth and thick just like with all of their butters. I love their body butters so much and just find myself having a scent for each time of the year. Except Honeymania, that scent is for all year around 😉
5.MAC Flair For Finery Lipstick – I got this from Nicole in my Christmas box and it’s my favourite colour probably ever! It is a gorgeous nude with pink undertones and I love it because it is so versatile. I wear it all day and just add a little bit of gloss to make it pop during the night time. The only problem is that this gorgeousness is a limited edition item! However it is very similar to Crème De Nude, although not as creamy.
6.Revlon Eye Shadow Pallet in Adventurous(512)- I love this pallet because it is all you need for a natural brown eye. It is small and compact so it fits easily into your bag and very easy to use. I love my Stila “In The Moment” pallet but it is rather large and requires a bit more time and space so this pallet is the perfect thing for girls-on-the-go.
7.H&M Kabuki Brush- I got this for Christmas from my brother and I love it because it is very easy to use. I love a bit of bronzer during the summer and this brush is perfect to put a bit of bronzer on my face. The brush is very soft and fluffy, I kind of wish I brought more H&M brushes because their quality is superb!
8.Kardashian Beauty Sheer Joy Lip Balm- Kardashian Beauty launched in South Africa in November and I got two of the lip balms in the goodie bag. They come together in two flavours- Watermelon and Cherry. They are slightly tinted so you get a bit of colour on your lips too. I would compare them to the Maybelline Baby Lips. I like that it’s small and fits into even the tiniest of my clutches. The scent is very close to that one of a cherry, and if you haven’t tied the Kardashian Beauty items yet, I suggest you start with this!
9.Schwarzkopf Leave In Conditioner – I am currently reviewing this lovely range and this has to be my favourite in it! I straighten my hair very often and even though I maintain my split ends, sometimes they get dry. I love spraying this on my ends and throughout my hair after straightening it. You can apply it to damp or dry hair and it gives the hair a very pretty glow.
What are your current beauty obsessions?:)
