There is nothing more beautiful than Pretoria and Johannesburg in late October and early November. Spring officially settles in, and you can smell it everywhere. One sign that spring has arrived and summer is not far behind- the bloom of the Jacaranda trees. They especially bloom beautifully in Pretoria, so if you ever visit South Africa, you must make a plan to see it! Looking to spend the night in Pretoria? Check out the best hotels in Pretoria on SafariNow! The Jacarandas only bloom once a year leaving the city draped in its gorgeous purple hue. Once the flowers start falling of the trees, I know that it is time to study. Alas, I am starting exams today.
Johannesburg has far less Jacarandas than Pretoria, but the little street by my boyfriend’s house is filled with them. I couldn’t miss showing some of my international readers the prettiness that is Johannesburg at this time of the year and decided to do an outfit that would match the trees. Purple also happens to be my favourite colour, and this dress is one of my favourites. I bought it at the Sowearto boutique at Rosebank Mall a couple of years ago, for a steal of 100 bucks. Of course I have the shoes and the bag in the same shade to match. The lipstick that I am wearing is a fuchsia colour called Girl About Town from MAC and you can expect a review and swatches of it on the blog tomorrow.
Dress- Sowearto
