Firstly, a big congrats to my giveaway winners- Amina and Imka! To everyone who entered- thank you so much! I have another giveaway coming soon, and as promised it will be international! 🙂
I am a little overdue with this post, but it feels like my holiday is just speeding past me, so I took a few days to myself.
On Saturday a couple of my friends and I attended the Jozi July Races. This is the first time the races were hosted in Johannesburg, and it is for those who couldn’t make it to the Durban July (I wish!) but still wanted to get in the action.
I know that people dress up quite outrageously for the races now days (Hello Liezel, what were you thinking?), but since this was my first time at the races I wanted it to be more elegant and lady-like then over-the-top.
I was inspired by the Duchess (how beautiful is she?) and her simple and clean look at one of the Royal Races.
My dress is from River Island, and the photos don’t do it justice. It is crochet, and it’s beaded (which does not come out in the photos :(). It is a perfect dress for a fancy occasion, and I have only previously worn it once, to a Christening.
My beautiful fascinator was borrowed from my dear friend Helen, who owns Helena’s Crown. She hand-makes the most stunning jewellery, bridal pieces and fascinators, and if you are looking for something custom-made, she will make anything that you have in mind come true.
I really put a lot of attention on the details, and adore the Sass Diva ring. I used the Forever New clutch that I wore to the wedding; it really is one of the best buys I’ve ever made.
The shoes- Steve Madden of course. Every girl should own a nude pair of heels in her closet (Duchess Catherine always wears her nude L.K.Bennet ones).
