I recently got to try out the local brand called SOiL and shop around on their online store. I always love having the liberty of choosing my own products for myself, because only I can know exactly what I want. Good news- today you can win your own SOiL shopping spree too! Keep reading to find out how, and here is what I thought about the brand and their products (which by the way are locally sourced, produced, and are organic).

I am only now slowly getting into the whole candle thing, so I immediately knew I wanted to try out some of their candles and wax melts. I have always loved essential oils, and I use them continuously in my baths, so seeing as I have so many already, I didn’t purchase more- but I was tempted! SOiL has a large range of aromatherapy oils that you can check out here. I love using oils for a pamper day, you can create your own spa at home! With my candle-hunting mission in mind, I placed my order to try the Sensual Hibiscus Organic Soy Wax Candle, The Balancing Baobab Soy Wax Melts and the Organic Lemongrass Hydrosol.

The Sensual Hibiscus Organic Soy Wax Candle(R220)

Lets be honest here- the packaging of this product totally sold it for me. Its so pretty, and pink and girly! I loved the sound of the hibiscus part, and I am so glad I picked it, because I love it. It has a very subtle smell, which is very pleasant but not overwhelming. It is advisable to burn it for 3 hours at a time to ensure an even melting pool, and you can smell its lovely scent within the first half hour.

The Organic Lemongrass Hydrosol(R30)

I’ve only had a chance to try this hydrosol out a few times, but I can tell we are going to be friends! I love hydrosols simply because they are incredibly easy to use, and I actually use them as a toner to hydrate my face. You can even pop this into the fridge and spray it onto your face after a long day for a bit of refreshment. Its lemongrass scent is rather lovely, and I think this will also work great as a room-mist spray.

The Balancing Soy Wax Melts(R50)

These little guys come in a pack of 8, and since I already had a burner I chose not to order one (but you can check them out here). This wasn’t my favorite product, because while it has a very earthy and calming scent to it, it is very overwhelming. When I first lit it, I did it in my little study and the scent filled up the room within the next 10 minutes and it overpowered me. The bf suggested that I rather light it in the open-plan lounge where the scent could spread through out the house, and once I did that, the melts worked perfectly. So my advice- use these for the whole house, not just one room.
