Today I am excited to share with you my first post as part of the Fossil “Calling All Curious” campaign. I have loved the Fossil brand ever since my boyfriend introduced me to it 5 years ago(he is obsessed) and ever since then I have admired their vintage-inspired watches and accessories. Their new ‘Calling Our Curious” campaign really caught my eye- it is so young, fun and inventive!
Curiosity- it keeps us moving forward, exploring, experimenting and opening new doors. As a child my mom always said that I was overly curious about everything, wanting to run away from her side and explore the near by surroundings as much as I could. That curiosity has stuck with me through the years, and today it translates into me wanting to know more about the world, travel, find new little gems in Joburg to explore and trying out all different kinds of food! Seriously, I’ll try anything once, be it skydiving or frog legs(done the French way of course). As Fossil puts it- “I have no special talents. I am passionately curious!”
I picked out this gorgeous “Preston Satchel” as my Fossil item for this month, because of how much I love the shape- bags like this just look really small, but in reality they are massive inside and can fit everything and anything! Perfect, for someone as curious as me who wants to pack her life in her handbag wherever she goes. When we were shooting the photos, I wanted to capture Fossils vintage heritage with this cool backdrop, that we shot at Chicara’s sister house(seriously, her house is amazing). The old leather couch, the antique mirror frame and the wooden staircase portray something from the last century. But look around at the details! They are so young and funky like the little cushion that has a print of a baby doll on it, so I love how it mixed the young and the vintage together.
The same goes for my outfit, which I planned around the bag. I am kind of in love with these geometric-print pants, which Steve jokes and calls my “golf pants” because apparently that’s what ladies wear to play golf. I just liked the fit of it, and it reminded me of something from the 1960s! The beautiful white top is back again, and while in the last outfit I wore it off the shoulders, here I wore it as an actual blouse. The funky detail in my outfit is the pop of color- don’t you think these orange and snakeskin Ted Baker heels are so fun? And of course my nail polish- its spring so I am embracing the bright colors.
I will be chatting more about the Fossil “Calling All Curious” campaign in the next few months, and stay tuned because it is really a fun one!

I’m eyeing that background and now I want a navy blue wall and a large bookcase… But you look amazing as always, and can’t wait to see what you do for the rest of the campaign 🙂 I can’t spot whether you mentioned it, but are Fossil’s bags leather?
