It’s almost Christmas time and time to ring in a new year! 2020 has been challenging for all of us to say the least, so I’m sure we are all glad to see this year go, and I am excited for a new chapter in 2021. This year hasn’t given us a lot of occasions to dress up for, but the festive season is reason enough for me! Even though we might not be going out, I still think its great to dress up and get dolled up for some celebrations, even if it’s just in your home.
In Russia we don’t celebrate Christmas as such, but New Years Eve is a big celebration and it is almost always done in someone’s home! Growing up every New Years Eve we would get dressed up and cook a delicious meal and spend time with family, right from the comfort of our own home, so this year will be no different for me. Another tradition that I grew up with has always been to co-ordinate my outfit to what the Chinese Zodiac sign is for the coming year, as it is said to bring you luck if you dress correctly. Because 2021 year is the year of the Metal Ox in the Chinese Zodiac, it is advised to wear metallic colors on New Years Eve to welcome in the new year. Hey, I will take any luck that I can get for 2021 😉
With that in mind I wanted to show you guys a few beautiful metallic dress options from Bride And Co to also inspire your festive outfit. They have such a gorgeous section of gowns and are always my first stop for evening wear. I liked SO many dresses but just chose these 2 to shoot because they were my favorites.
I absolutely love this halter neck beaded dress, and this was my first choice for bridesmaids’ dresses, because how gorgeous? It is fully beaded and encrusted with beautiful sparkles and beads all over and its quite heavy to wear but so wort it! I would wear this for a fabulous Christmas Eve Dinner, paired with a pair of Jimmy Choo heels and some minimal jewelry. With a look like this, you will sparkle more than the Christmas tree!
My second outfit that I would wear on New Years Eve, is this gorgeous foiled gold dress. It feels amazing on you, and the fabric falls like a waterfall as you glide through the room. As I said it is the year of the Metal Fox, so bring in all the luck in 2021 when you are dresses in something as beautiful as this!
I paired the dress with a pair of black strappy heels and my beloved Saint Laurent clutch bag.
I hope this has given you some inspiration for upcoming festivities at home, and here are a few other metallic dresses that I think would be perfect for celebrations! Remember that you can book a free virtual appointment with Bride And Co anytime, or pop into their stores for a consult. I also love this Criss-Cross Halter neck Sequin Sheath Dress with Front Keyhole detail, this multi-coloured strapless fully sequin Aztec dress with front slit , and this fully sequin black dress with side-slit and cut-out back detail.
