Beauty Review+Giveaway- Daisy Dream by Marc Jacobs

marc jacobs daisy dream

I am so obsessed with Marc Jacobs’ fragrances. Okay I’ll admit at first it was just the bottles that drew me in- I got Lola back in 2011 because the beautiful bottle with a huge plastic rose on the bottle cap attracted me but it’s impossible to not fall in love with Marc Jacobs fragrances. His scents are always delicious and the latest addition to his perfumes, Daisy Dream, is no exception.

marc jacobs daisy dream
Daisy Dream is a variation of the original Daisy scent from 2007. Daisy Dream is said to be a more sophisticated and “ethereal version” of the original perfume. Personally I loved the original Daisy, and I love this one just as much. It is incredibly light, care-free and fun. Inspired by daises and the blue-skies, the scent and the bottle reflect that idea.

marc jacobs daisy dream
The fragrance has yummy fruity top notes of pear, blackcurrent and grapefruit. When it opens up a bit you can smell the floral middle of wisteria and jasmine and the base notes are white wood and coconut water. With such playful base notes, you can imagine how light and fresh this fragrance is. It really is my top choice for a summer fragrances because it’s easy and delicious.

marc jacobs daisy dream
The bottle is of course the piece de reissuance in this whole fragrance. It has to be one of the prettiest bottles I’ve ever seen, and boy does it light up my perfume stand! When Marc created the perfume he also had an idea of the woman that would be using it, and he describes a typical “Daisy” girl as vulnerable and strong at the same time, just like the flower itself. Daisy Dream retails from R765-R1395 and is available at all participating stores.

marc jacobs daisy dream
Well I am not going to gush about this beauty here and not let you have a chance of winning it, am I? I wouldn’t be so cruel! I am so excited to giveaway one 50ml bottle of this gorgeous fragrance to one of my readers! AND… there is no need to be sad if you don’t win it because I have two more prizes to giveaway as well! The lovely girls at ASCO really want to spoil my readers rotten, so I am also giving away 2 bottles of the new “Rock” perfumes by Shakira! It’s brand new to the market and is a citrus sensation! The bottle is also shaped like a guitar so you can pretend that you are jamming with it when you home alone(or is it just me?).
Let me cut to the chase: you can enter by commenting below and telling me what your dream for 2015 is. It can be anything and everything- maybe you want to lose weight, get a new job or get married. Or maybe you just want to stay as happy as you are now, it’s your dream and I want to hear it!:)
The competition will run from today until the 25th of November. I’ll get some help choosing the best answer, and that will be the answer that wins the Daisy Dream. The runner up and the third place winner will each score themselves a bottle of Rock by Shakira!
Sounds dreamy doesn’t it?
Good luck!

My dream for 2015 is to lose the rest of my baby weight and document it. Help other new mothers/fathers, grandmothers/grandfathers, teens, etc reach their weight loss goal in a healthy way. No starvation diets. No cheats. No quick fixes. Everything done in a way that EVERYONE can do it and I’ll be here, helping you along online with my progress and admitting to cheats (hopefully none but to err is human).

Also, my dream of becoming a senior in my field of work is a dream, one I AM going to achieve no matter what and what better time to get it done than 2015.

So with these two major developments in my upcoming life, I need to smell great. I mean, who wants to take advice from a Smelly Melly (obsessed with Scandal so excuse the reference). Winning the Daisy Dream by Marc Jacobs would end my year off on a delicious note and start off 2015 in the best smelling way possible!

*With Marc Jacobs on her skin, every woman can accomplish anything!

WOW so many dreams for 2015….. I would have to say my dream for 2015 would be that I would stop to smell the roses more, in other words, I wouldn’t get caught up in the minor irritations of life and let them ruin more than a second of my day. I want to roll on the grass more with my children and not worry about the pile of dishes in the sink. I want to have the energy to say “yes” more and “no” less to requests for my time or participation in things. Most of all, for this coming year I want to walk in the fullness of life that God has gone ahead and prepared for me for 2015 and every year. I want to really get into His Word and let it wash over me and free me from the fetters of this world and be a huge blessing and inspiration to my loved ones and in fact anybody who crosses my path!! WOW that’s a lot but……. Jesus said to him, “‘If you can’! All things are possible for one who believes.” Mark 9:23. X

    Hey dear,
that is so sweet of you to be giving away such a lovely perfume bottle. I’ve been hearing great things about this edition by Marc Jacobs, so i knew i had to enter.
My goals and dreams for 2015 are not to lose weight (totally lying there), get a new job (would be great, but i’d also be ok with the old one) or get married (no thanks, totally the truth) – actually to get my masters degree, travel to Canada, as i’ve been wanting it for years, and get involved with some local indie brands, since i always find it inspiring what people can create just from a good idea (and of course blog growing is also part of the bigger plan).

Thanks again for the opportunity. xo

From a little needlework, to crocheting and Knitting to scrapbooking and everything in between 🙂 Health for my little girl is also top of the list because there is just nothing worse in life then a child that is sick! Oh and sell our house, our street has suddenly erupted in a street full of prostitutes, not a good environment to raise my little one in.

What is your dream? Will you achieve your dream in your lifetime? I’m certain that you desire to. I’m sure you hope you will.
But will you actually do it? What odds would you give yourself? One in five? One in a hundred? One in a million? How can you
tell whether your chances are good or whether your dream will always remain exactly that—a dream? And are you willing
to put it to the test?
Most people I know have a dream. In fact,
I’ve asked hundreds, if not thousands, of
people about their dream. Some willingly
describe it with great detail and enthusiasm.
Others are reluctant to talk about it. They
seem embarrassed to say it out loud. These
people have never tested their dream. They
don’t know if others will laugh at them.
They’re not sure if they’re aiming too high
or too low. They don’t know if their dream
is something they can really achieve or if
    they’re destined to fail.
Most people have no idea how to achieve
their dreams. What they possess is a vague
notion that there is something they would
like to do someday or someone they would
like to become. But they don’t know how to
get from here to there. If that describes you,
then you’ll be glad to know that there really
is hope. My dream to raise new money for my family while doing what i love and obviously a huge shopping spree

Today is the first day of my new life.

    I’ve started a new job.
Being 25 and not knowing what you’re doing with your life is one of the most stressful things to go through. Especially when looking at people that went to school with you and being jealous of their happiness. So I gave up from trying to keep up with everyone and started a new path. I resigned from my super corporate job to follow my recently discovered dream… Social Media Strategy. I don’t want to win awards, I don’t want to be famous… I just want to do work that excites me so much that I’m up until 2am working on it. I feel this heat of passion within my bones and I am so excited for this new adventure!

    So… HEY 2015.
Let’s work on some cool projects. Let’s make magic, doll :*

Other than that, as much as this sounds cliche, I want to stay happy – it’s hard when you have depression. I also hope my grades will go up, as I have not started this year too well, especially not in math and Arabic! And lastly, I want to learn to deal with pressure better.

I have a few dreams that I would like to see come true in 2015,one of them is to start my career path as I recently graduated . I would also like to see myself dating again ,after the numerous disastrous relationships in 2014 . I was about to give up hope of me having a love life again.
Maybe after the dream of finding love ,I may develop the need to become a mother for the first time .

My dream for 2015? Nothing too fancy, just continued health, wellness, love and success for my family and to continue always helping others when we can. It has been a tough but rewarding year for us and my dream is simply to always be blessed and never to take the little things for granted.. A roof over our heads, clean running water and electricity, home cooked meals every day made with heavenly love..

    xoxo

I have a lot of dreams which probably won’t come true, but next year I am dreaming of going on holiday (I haven’t been in five years!). I hope my blog will start to grow, I get to try new things, and I’m happy. Oh, and world peace would be lovely… But since I can’t change the world I can at least dream of being less stressed and happier with my place in the world next year. This year has been a tough one.

My Dream for 2015 is to let go of all the negatives and concentrate on the positives in my life no matter what life throws at me, and not to sweat the small stuff. I want to get fitter by walking more (no more short trips to the shop instead I will put on my takkies and take the walk), eat more healthier organic foods and follow a healthier eating plan, spend more time outdoors in the garden and at the beach, spend more quality time with family & friends enjoying time together over a home cooked meal or braai, volunteer more time in my community, smile and laugh more, try to save more money and cut back on unnecessary spending, be more eco-conscious, be kinder to others and to myself 🙂

my Dream for 2015 is to live a healthier and fitter lifestyle, cultivate a positive outlook in life for myself and others, excel in my Varsity studies so that I can reach my dream of contributing to a better life and future for the disadvantaged communities in Africa, to always show gratitude for all of life’s little blessing, spend more time with family and friends. My dream is a pretty simple… to appreciate and enjoy the little things. Might sound cliché but we always focus on the half empty when there’s so much to live, laugh and love about. We get caught up in all the craziness and forget to look around at the beautiful people and experiences. Rather than focusing on weight, excercise and extrinsic things I want to focus on enjoying the little things that make my heart happy. Ps.. im a massive mark Jacobs fan. I wait for a perfume each Christmas and it hasn’t been under the tree in a while. Xx

My dream for 2015 is for me and hubby to find good jobs in Cape Town and then finally start with a family. We met online, he is Dutch born and raised and I’m South African, he moved to SA for me and we’ve had a lot of obstacles to overcome with moving and foreign affairs (the list goes on and on) so if everything can work out in the new year I will be on cloud 9!

I look at this photo and I cannot believe that it I look at this photo and I cannot believe that it was taken a year ago, when we were fresh into a hectic lockdown and a whole pandemic 🥴(remember this pillow trend?😂) Back then I think all of us thought that this would last for a month only, and here we are just over a year later 😂😫It hasn’t been the easiest year for anyone by any means and I am proud of how much I’ve achieved personally, in the mentally hardest year of my life. I’m proud for the small things that I achieved like learning to cook more and finding time to exercise, as much as I’m proud of the big stuff, so today, I celebrate that! Celebrate all the wins that you’ve had in this past year no matter how big or small, because you are a star and you’ve made it over a year in the strangest time yet 🍾
