Happy Friday everyone! I hope everyone has an amazing weekend; mine will be filled with studies as I write my finals next week! On Tuesday night I was invited to attend the launch of Forever New latest collection- High Society. Half my closet is basically from Forever New because I really do adore the brand. As I have mentioned before I am a very girly-girl and Forever New has everything and anything a girl like me could dream of: long chiffon dresses, embellished blouses and sparkly shoes. The store is a tad pricey for a student but I make sure to invest in items that will never go out of style. And the quality of the clothes is really amazing, it honestly does last me a long time. I like to think of it as an “Investment”- some people invest in bonds and stock, I invest in gorgeous clothing.
The launch was held at their Sandton City store, and was filled with celebrities and darlings of the fashion world. The set-up was absolutely gorgeous- a real High Society Celebration. The long table outside was filled with tea-party treats and beautiful décor. I starred at all of these cakes and macaroons and wanted to cry, as I am still on a sugar-ban.
The presentation included an out-of-this-world performance by an electric violinist (it’s the new thing now) with the gorgeous Kerrin from Busby House telling us a bit about the new collection after which the models strutted their stuff. Oh yes and there was a poodle named Spikey and he is the most adorable and well behaved dog I have ever met.

About the collection: as usual, it is gorgeous. Tones of pretty cocktail and bridesmaids-ready dresses, diamante clutches and flowy summer tops. I also spotted that Forever New now sells their own fragrances in delicious flavours such as Mango and Coconut (and they smell exactly like their names) for R275 (if I’m not mistaken). The collection is summer-ready and has things that can take you from day to night. Oh what am I talking about, see for yourselves!
We browsed the store while nibbling on mouth-watering canapés and pink lemonade and besides the new collection the store still has plenty of other must-see items.

As I am still on a shopping ban (two bans in one month, I am dying over here) I was forced to oooh and aaaah over the collection without actually purchasing anything, but of course we didn’t go home empty handed. All of the attendees got a treat from Forever New in a form of a clutch or an iPad case (I chose the clutch). By the end of the night, I really didn’t want to leave- pretty please can I just live at the store for like, ever?

What I wore: Forever New of course. For some reason my Forever New heels went MIA for the night, but luckily I had my angel-winged Melissa’s to save the night!

Thank you so much to the wonderful people at Busby House for hosting me for the night! 🙂
