You know that life is getting away from you, when you get around to publishing your best of 2015 post as late as the start of March! Seriously, life has been getting away from me lately, and I feel like I have been saying that over and over again. As my last post about products that I enjoyed in 2015, I am talking hair, fragrance and body. Hair has always been a tricky one for me because I change between things all the time and even though I have tried close to 30 different perfumes last year, I still end up going back to one. Let’s dig into it, shall we?
Last year I become a bit of a hair snob, in terms of the fact that my hair got addicted to luxury hair products. Don’t get me wrong, I still love a budget hair buy here and there, but there was one brand that blew my mind last year- Kerastase. I finished every bottle of my precious Kerastase shampoo, and the one that I have in this picture is about to finish as well! This is from the Chronologist range which I really enjoyed, but my favourite was the Discipline range. The Architect range from Kerastase is also a winner, and basically I haven’t met a Kerastase product I have just been obsessed with (except maybe the ones that are not designed for my hair type). Kerastase has great packaging, always smells delicious and makes my hair feel great. It’s mainly available in salons and the prices start at around R300, and I find their products so worth it. Love!
In terms of hairstyling, the product that I found most useful is the Redken Frizz Dismiss Fly Away Fix Papers. I’ve mentioned lots of times on the blog that I have quite frizzy hair and need help managing it. These are basically like blotting papers for your hair! I loved that they were easy to travel with, very light and very useful to keep on hand. The whole of the Frizz Dismiss Range is great for anyone that wants to tame down their mane.
Onto the body side of things, towards the end of last year I got obsessed with this Kiehl’s Gently Exfoliating Grapefruit Body Scrub. Its granules are rather larger than any other body scrub I’ve tried, and I ain’t going to lie- this scrub is not for the soft-hearted! It’s a rather “hard” scrub and it really exfoliates your skin properly. I know it’s says “gentle” on the packaging and perhaps maybe U have super sensitive skin but I found it to be anything but! This scrub is perfect to wash away any dead skin and give your skin the smooth finish it deserves. The grapefruit scent is also a winner, its so fresh that its like a cup of coffee for your body!;)
I chatted about The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Body Clay mask over here, and my feelings about it didn’t change one bit. I carried on using it on my face, and another thing that I noticed that if you use it there, your black heads will be more prominent, right before they disappear for good. It’s great for the body and for the face so tis a double whammy! The only slight downfall for me was that it was rather difficult to take off, but because it gives such a great immediate result, I think it’s worth it!
I’m not even going to go into much detail about my favourite fragrance of last year, because if you have been reading my blog, you would easily guess what it is. Si of course! I mentioned over and over again how much I love it, and that’s its hand down my signature scent. Out of the 5 offerings that are currently on the market (Si EDP, Si EDT, Si Intense, Si Oil and Si Rose) my favourite is the Si Intense. It is rather strong but I love it because it lasts on me the whole day and smells delicious.
Phew, I’m glad I finally managed to get that out!:) Have you tried any of these products before?:)
