Lookbook-Winter Is Here

Winter is here, Game Of Thrones style! It seems like this past weekend, winter decided to hit Joburg with all she(I’m guessing it’s a she) has, and the temperatures have dropped past what I consider my comfortable level. My method for surviving winter is simple- grin and bare it for 3 months and pretend like it doesn’t really happen, but that doesn’t mean I don’t plan cute winter outfit to wear on the weekends! This season I made an investment in Hunter boots– something that I’ve been wanting for years!

I know that Hunter boots are pretty much an England thing, what given the rain there and all. We don’t have rain in winter in South Africa, but still you gotta admit that a pair of Hunter boots in winter is a must! They are actually really cozy, and I find myself wearing them almost every Friday(office casual day!) and on the weekend. They mostly look great with a pair of jeans, and I love to pair them with leggings as well. I’ve seen a few outfits of Hunter boots worn with skirts and jackets, but I haven’t made that fashion forward transition yet! Maybe next time?;)

To go with my Hunter boots, and to keep me cozy in winter, I also recently purchased this Sissy Boy jacket. Its so soft and comfy, whenever I wear it I don’t want to take it off! I usually stick to beautifully tailed coats in winter, but there was something about this puffy jacket I just couldn’t resist. The navy color, the good fit, and the little faux fur on its hood. It looks great paired with jeans or with a dress, so its needled to say that I am loving it lately!
