I mentioned before that I am not a huge fan of the 70s trend. There are certain decades that I love when it comes to fashion (the 1920’s flapper girl, the 1950’s Stepford Wife) and certain decades that are not my cup of tea (here is hoping that the crazy 80s never come back). I was always on the edge about the 70s because on the one hand I do like the free-flowing gypsy skirts and maxi dresses, but they can also be very un-flattering, plus the color palette of the 70s is not the best. However since I am a fashion blogger, I set out on a mission to create a 70s look that is true to the decade, but still has a modern age, and here is what I came up with!
PS The links to the items in my outfit are all at the bottom!:)
The off-the-shoulder trend is probably my favorite, because it is feminine and very easy to wear. This little black crop top goes perfectly with pencil skirts or maxi skirts, so I think it’s a winner which ever you look at it. However the real find for me, were these boho-inspired pants. I don’t think I would have ever picked them if the 70s trend wasn’t around, but something made me pick them up and pair them with the top. I am actually kind of in love with them now! They are high-waisted which visually elongates my legs, so that makes up for the fact that they are loose and baggy. And this light brown color is so reminiscent of the 70s! The only think I don’t like about these pants is the fabric (although ideal and light for summer)- it creases like a mofo 😉
The lace-up is the “IT” shoe of the season, and this is my 5th pair that I have bought this spring! I can’t help myself, I just love this type of shoe so much! The top, pants and the shoes all hail from Mr. Price- remember I mentioned that when it comes to trend-items its best to buy them at a retail store, because then even if the item goes out of style, you didn’t waste too much of your money! However what I did invest in for this look are the accessories- hello Fossil! The pretty black satchel is back again, and there is the addition of the gorgeous brown watch. Don’t worry you will get a close-up look at it this week on the blog!:)
This is my take on the 70s trend- very easy and casual, but still with a touch of femininity. I love this look, what about you?

Love the colour combination 🙂 I think by the time I finally decide on whether to get a pair of 70’s palazzo pants or flares, the trend is going to be over!
