It’s no secret that I am absolutely loving being a bride. I knew that I would love it though, I am one of those girls who’s dreamt about her wedding since she was 5, and I am totally not ashamed to admit it. Even though I’ve dreamt of my wedding since I was a child, the dress in my dreams was never clear, or it kept changing. At first(when I was 5) I of course wanted a princess dress, then when I was 18 I thought that I would be a boho bride, then at 25 it changed to a mermaid cut and lace, and now with our wedding just 7 months away, I have no idea of the dress that I actually want! Luckily, I am not a person who hates trying on dresses, I love it, and so I have no problem trying on 100 dresses to find the one! Bride and Co sensed that I would be game to try on as many dresses as possible, so we have partnered up for a series of awesome wedding related posts, starting with my first post today!
Let’s start at the beginning and chat about the whole bridal fitting process at Bride and Co. You first make a booking for it online through their website over here, and honestly, it took me 15 seconds to book my slot. I really do enjoy the Bride and Co in Rivonia, as it has the largest dress assortment, and they have private fitting rooms, which adds to the whole experience. The appointment is free, which is such a budget saver(trust me when you’re planning a wedding, every cost counts)! I gathered all of my ladies for the booked dated and of we went to have some fun!
As I mentioned, the dress selection at Bride and Co is BIG, so make sure you at least have a faint idea of what you would like to see yourself in on the big day. If you don’t have an idea(like I didn’t have one), then do what I did- each one of my bridesmaids picked a dress for me to try on, our Bride and Co representative picked one, and then I picked one as well. It was super interesting to guess which girl picked which dress for me, and then to hear her thoughts as to why she chose it for me! The 2 dresses that I have my eyes on were picked for me by my Maid Of Honor, and Bride and Co! The appointment is an hour, and I managed to try on 7 dresses in that time! I do suggest that you get there a bit earlier, so you can browse through the racks and pick out a few items as you go.
I will get into the actual dresses later on in the month, but what I can tell you is that I am IN LOVE with Viola Chan designs. They are so feminine and elegant, and both of the dresses that I ended up loving, were from her range. Besides the dresses, there are many accessories that you can have a look at as well as Bridesmaids Dresses (but there is a separate post on this coming up!). My advice would be to book an appointment at Bride and Co with your bridal party, and go all in together and have some fun. Pick out dresses, try them on, and once you have a feel for what you like, come back and see it again with a limited audience.
I am the kind of bride that will try things on over and over, but on both my visits to Bride and Co, there were 2 ladies that said Yes To The Dress on their first visit! The ladies of Bride and Co make it really special, and announce on loudspeaker that a bride is about the Say Yes To The Dress, so everyone can congratulate the happy occasion. I thought that was so sweet and special, and honestly I can’t wait for my big moment too!
So did I Say Yes To The Dress? You will have to wait and see but here are some gorgeous dresses that I didn’t say yes to, while I was busy finding my one. Also, keep an eye on my page because there will be a HUGE giveaway going up with Bride and Co next month. Let’s just say that if you’re a bride, or know a bride, you wouldn’t want to miss it!
