Outfit Of The Day- That Yacht Life

“What does one wear on a yacht?” was my question of the day a week ago, when I was getting ready to sail the Persian Gulf in Dubai. I haven’t been on a real yacht before so my excitement levels were running high. Who else gets to sail on a swanky yacht in the middle of a Friday afternoon? We gathered at the Dubai Marina which is too beautiful for words, the perfect mixture of yachts and sky scrapers. You really get it all in Dubai from the city life to the blue,blue sea.

We were treated to an afternoon sail on First Yacht around Dubai in the Persian Gulf. Lunch and drinks were served for us to enjoy on the upper deck, and I felt nothing short of a princess posing away on the yacht. In case you are wondering what a yacht looks like inside, I snapped some pics. This was a triple story yacht, with the first story being the upper deck of the yacht where you can tan away. The middle part is where you enter the yacht and there is a little lounge and kitchen area inside. Once you step downstairs there are two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a little office in case you need to some business while sailing. All very casual of course ;).

I did get a bit of the motion sickness on the lower level and the waves can be a little rough. That yacht life is not for everyone, but hey someones gotta do it.

I even swam in the sea once the yacht settled still and we got the stunning view of the Burj Al Arab behind us. The water was nice and warm and I didn’t want to get out! In terms of the outfit I settled on a lovely blue draped skirt and a white top with daisies for the yacht cruise. A floppy hat and sunnies are a must, and the shoes are not. You take off your shoes the second you get on the yacht, so embrace being barefoot.

Take me back to Dubai!
