Essie Gel Couture Collection

I’m a sucker for nail polish and for Essie nail polish especially! I find it quite therapeutic to paint my nails on a Sunday evening while watching an episode of “Friends” or “New girl”. Of course the main pain with nail polish is that it chips and I find myself frustratingly removing it in the middle of the week. Essie has taken wear time into account with their brand new Gel Couture collection. Designed with the haute vision of couture, the line presents 21 brand new colours with staying power that introduces luxury to your fingertips.

Inspired by fashion masterpieces and the runway creations of the finest maisons de couture, gel couture offers a rare ‘glimpse’ into the world of quality craftsmanship and artistry– from the atelier to the after party. With up to twelve days of wear, it’s a sought-after collection that seamlessly blends technical innovation with incomparable style. I love the cute little bottle-it’s all twirly to mimic the twist and swirl of a perfectly tailored gown. The brush has also gotten a make-over- its wider now for ease of use and better application.

Currently the Gel Couture has 4 collections- Atelier, First look, Fashion Show and After Party. I was lucky enough to get all of 4 of them and of course the top coat- gel couture is a no-go without it. I picked my favourite 5 out of the 21 and no surprise, they are all spring inspired! I’ve really enjoyed the gel couture collection and while not all of the colours lived up to the 12-day no chip challenge, it certainly extended my normal nail polish wear time(I would say 5 days longer on average).

A gorgeous cream caramel rose that has your name written all over it! Beautiful transitional colour between spring and summer that’s good for everyday wear.

Couture Curator

So smart, so chic- you are the very soul of sublime taste in this oh-so-put together appraising coral colour. Of course this collection stole my heart with the beautiful pastel colours, and Couture Curator is just spring perfect!

Zip Me Up

Slip into this slinky satin mint, and you may never have to lift a finger. It reminds me of pistachio ice cream on a hot summer day. This did need a minimum of 2 coats for the colour to come through, as it comes out quite pale at first.

Dress Call

This gorgeous orchid crème is definitely my fav out of the all. It glides on like a dream and the colour comes through after just 1 coat. If you get any colour from the Gel Couture collection, make it this one!
