Lookbook- The Fringe Factor

IRINA TASSLE LOOK-17

It’s officially autumn in my mind (just look at today’s miserable weather) and with a new season, come new trends! I love checking out trends from Fashion Weeks every season, and always think about the couple of trends that I liked the most, and how I could incorporate them into my wardrobe. This season one of the biggest trends is fringe. From shoes to jackets to details on your outfit, the fringe factor is a must this season. I wanted to play around with the trend a little bit because honestly I wasn’t a huge fan of the trend before, but now that fringe isn’t just for the 70s its making a comeback in my closet!

The first item of this outfit that I just love is the fringed boho jacket. I’m sure that paired with a hat it would look like I am ready to go off on a rodeo, but paired with simple black pants, I quite like it. The jacket is so soft and feels like a dream, and you can wear it beyond festivals! 😉 I think it would make a great addition to your autumn wardrobe and the key to wearing such a statement jacket is to keep the rest of the outfit relatively simple.

My blouse actually has fringe on it too, but I kept that hidden under the jacket ;)! A simple monochrome outfit paired with a brown fringe jacket is perfect for a breezy autumn night out. To add a little bit of colour, and another tassel element, I added this green Dune bag to the mix. The outfit is finished off with my nude lace-ups, which is another trend I can’t get enough of!

I’m not a huge fan of the 70s trend, but I think I will try and incorporate it into my wardrobe subtly. Fringe jackets, boho-pattern dresses and brown hues are what I am looking forward to wearing this season mixed with my usual items 🙂

Are you a fan of the trend? Give it a try!

Since it was our engageversary yesterday(totally a Since it was our engageversary yesterday(totally a word), let me tell you a (now) funny story about getting engaged 💍 I knew that we would be getting engaged sometime soon as we chatted about it, but I didn’t know when it would happen, so for a good month or two, I was always on standby-by mode, ready for things to happen😂 There were so many opportunities for a beautiful proposal as it was December, and we were traveling all over the country, visiting gorgeous locations 💙When Steve suggested that we climb Lions Head in the Cape Town December heat at 12PM in the day, I did it, because I thought “Hey, maybe he will propose there(he didn’t😂)?” Then we went to visit the gorgeous Blyde River Canyon, and I thought surely this is the perfect place to do it(it wasn’t, but I did get this great pic😂)!?There were a couple of other close calls on the Balitto beach and in the bush, but in the end, Steve chose his own time and place to do(as he usually does anyway). It was a very nerve wrecking month of my life, filled with “engagement ready” nails and outfits 😂 Who else can relate or was your engagement a total surprise😂?💁🏻‍♀️

It’s been a tough time for the wine industry in the last year so why not still support your fav wine farm if you can, by going there for a meal? We recently did just that when we were in Cape Town and headed to @quoinrock for a delectable picnic 🧺 . Here are some other wine farms that I love not only for their delicious wine but also for their cheese platters, yummy lunches and crazy beautiful views. Drop your favorites below because sharing is caring and let’s support our local wine industry 😊
🍷 @cavalliestate - I mean obviously, it’s why we chose it as a wedding venue! Their food is SO good, I’ve had it a few times now and even though their seasonal menu changes often, I can safely say that anything that you order from their menu will be divine 🤤
🍷 @capepointvineyardsofficial One of the best cheese and charcuterie boards I’ve ever had was here! The views are beautiful because you see the beach AND the vineyards at the same time 😍
🍷 @beauconstantia - If you’re feeling like treating yourself then head on over to Chefs Warehouse that is in Beau Constantia, or enjoy a cheese board in the wine tasting area, overlooking some gorgeous vineyards .
🍷 @leopardsleap - Lovely for a birthday or a special occasion, Leopards Leap offers a Family Table experience which is a mouthwatering selection of starters, mains and desserts, prepared just for you🤤At R395 a person it’s a great deal for the awesome meal that you get, believe me I’ve tried it!
🍷 @babylonstoren - a bit of an obvious one, but I can’t help but love this place 🤷🏻‍♀️You can have a foodie experience at their Babel restaurant or a relaxed lunch at the Greenhouse.
Tell me what your favorites are that I must visit next time 🍷
My actual excited face when I heard that my favori My actual excited face when I heard that my favorite TV show Sex And The City is coming back for another season!😆😆😆 It’s no secret to anyone that knows me that I absolutely love the show(and watch on repeat all the time) and Carrie Bradshaw has definitely been one of my biggest style inspirations over the years. She was the biggest inspiration behind my wedding ceremony look(as she married her Mr Big in a white suit with the gorgeous blue Manolos too 😉)and she has inspired many of my looks over the years. From the 80s-vibe black jumpsuit that I wore in the streets of New York to whimsical tutu and tulle skirts that I bought because of her, Carrie has been a constant source of #OOTD inspiration for me! Are you as excited as I am about the reboot? Also which of these looks is your fav?
