I think I must have mentioned this about 100 times over on the blog, but I really do despise winter. I hate the cold with a passion, so dressing nicely in winter time is always a challenge for me. That is exactly why I decided to reignite my passion for sharing my Lookbooks on here, in hopes that I can inspire myself and you guys, to be stylish this winter. It’s not easy to dress not only in jerseys and jeans, but make the effort to look nice, all while being warm. Today’s Lookbook is all about winter office wear, featuring some great pieces that I found in Zara and Witchery!
Whenever my friend Josie and I go shopping in Woolworths, we always stop at the 3 places that you have to stop at when shopping there- Country Road, Witchery and Trenery. We like to profile the woman that wears each brand, and we always joke around and say that a Country Road mom owns a horse, has a holiday home by the coast, and always picks her children up on time. We imagine the Trenery mom to be the PTA mom, the one who makes the world’s best cookies and manages the lift club. And the Witchery mom we imagine to be the fabulous mom, the one who drinks wine at noon and wears Gucci sunglasses where ever she goes. Well, I strive to be the fab Witchery mom, and I just generally love this brand and try and invest in a key item per season from them (because it is rather pricey). 2 years ago I bought a fabulous trench coat, last year I got a lovely dress, and this year I decided to invest in this gorgeous midi skirt!
Midi skirts are a great piece for summer and winter, because they can be worn with boots in winter and with pretty much anything else in the warmer months. I love pairing my skirts with thigh high boots, and these boots were the best investment that I made 3 years ago. Because snakeskin is such a hot print at the moment, I decided to just go for it and get this skirt(also because I couldn’t stop thinking about it when I tried it on!). I don’t normally recommend paying so much money for a “trend” piece, but this skirt is just an amazing quality that it blew me away. I love the slit on it because it adds a little bit of sexiness to an otherwise plain lenght, so if you love the skirt as much as I do, you can shop it right here, right now over on the Witchery tab on Woolworths.
It’s easy to stick to just neutral colors in winter, but a fun way to spruce up your wardrobe is to bring color through! I started to invest in colored jerseys a few years ago, and wearing a pop of pink, peach and red really does brighten up my day in winter! That’s why I got this jersey from Zara, because it brings a colorful element to an otherwise monochrome outfit. Winter doesn’t have to be all doom and gloom, it can also be fun and colorful! This jersey is currently on sale in Zara(not the green because it sold out but the brow) for a friendly price of R399! I also really love this yellow jersey from Cotton On(also on sale!) and this red jersey from Mango on Superbalist.
Accessories are also a vital part of any outfit, and I invested in these earrings from Country Road back in January, and have just been obsessed with them! How gorgeous is the marble design? I also recently discovered Tessa Design over on Instagram, and this handy bag is just one of the things that I fell in love it! Tessa is also stocked at YDE, and you will see this brand pop up in a few more of my posts, because I just got the cutest things from there.
PS If you’re a Harry Potter fan you would appreciate the title of this post. My Harry Potter house is Slytherin, so a snake print, paired with the color of the house (which is green) made for an obvious choice for me as to what to name this lookbook 😉
