Happy(belated) Manicure Monday guys! I know I’m a little late with this post, but with the recent bound of flu that has hit me, I’ve been barely able to concentrate long enough to write a post. However I am finally starting to feel better, and todays post is actually my first Manicure Monday for the year, and its all about the gorgeous Morgan Taylor Cinderella collection!
Painting my nails is something I have really come to enjoy, although I’m not perfect at it(so please don’t judge my paint job too harshly!). I used to hate painting my nails because I never knew how to get it right, but I found that with every paint job, my skills got better. Of course some polishes make it a lot easier than others, and this was my first time experiencing the Morgan Taylor formula, and I am in love! I am not a fan of gelish nails, and also not a huge fan of in-salon manicures, because I like doing it myself, and changing up the colour every couple of days(the colors all depend on my mood that day). This limited edition Cinderella collection from Morgan Taylor has just launched into stores and it is so stunning!(PS the movie is about to hit our big screens in South Africa too!)
The full collection consists of 6 colors, 3 of which I got to try out. The ones that I am showing you guys today are called Ella Of Girl(a creamy pink), Watch Your Step, Sister(a very hot orange/pink), and my absolute favourite- If The Slipper Fits(a glittery blue). The other 3 colors in the collection are called Best Ballgown Ever(a periwinkle blue), My Carriage Awaits(a very appropriate pumpkin-like colour) and Party At The Palace(a turquoise green).
Ella Of A Girl
Firstly let me say that with all 3 polishes, I found the application very easy. The creamy ones(this one and Watch, Your Step Sister), were a little bit harder to apply because they can go streaky if you apply too little, but I found that 2 coats for me did a great job.
Ella Of A Girl is a very soft, pretty pink that is girly and princess-like. I wore it to the crowning of Miss Veet and you can see how it looks in real-life in my post here. The colour stayed chip-free for 3 days for me, and I used a base and top coat with it. A huge thumbs up from me!
Watch Your Step, Sister!
This is a very hot pink with a bright orange undertone. It also has a creamy texture, and its one of those shades that is nice to have not only because of the collection, but all year around to wear on any day.
If The Slipper Fits
This is my favorite from the collection, maybe because I like glitter or maybe because of how it looks on the nails and how long it lasts. After one coat I wasn’t sure how the polish would look, but the minute I applied the second coat, the colour was perfectly opaque, and it came out as a gorgeous shimmery blue with silver sparkles.
Its shimmery without being too overwhelming, which is what I love so much about it. The glitter in the polish does make it have a bit of a rough feel on top, even when I put a top coat on. But it lasted a full 4 days, and for me this is the shade that best describes Cinderella!
Pssst look how gorgeous it looks with the flash on
These guys are available at select spas and salons now and go for just under R125. The movie is hitting the big screens next week so make sure to grab yourself a polish or two from the collection before you go off to see the movie!;)
