I have a little fun fact for you today which ties in with my outfit- in the Russian culture we don’t actually celebrate Christmas until the 7th of January, but we celebrate New Years Eve quite hectically and that’s when all the food eating and present opening happens. For as long as I can remember, New Years Eve was the most anticipated event in our house, and I suppose it is quite similar to Christmas- we get a tree (usually it a real pine tree), we prepare delicious food and “Father Snow (the Russian version of Santa Claus)” comes to visit with all the gifts!
Since moving to South Africa I tend to celebrate all 3 of the dates- on the 25th with my South African friends, on the 31st with my parents, and then on the 7th of January with my Russian friends. That’s a whole lot of celebrations that require outfits right? Well since in South Africa (and pretty much everywhere else all over the world) New Years Eve is just a huge party, I have some outfit inspiration for the biggest night of the year for you!
New Years Eve is usually just a huge party where everyone dances the night away and celebrates the beginning of the New Year. To me, it’s also a very hopeful time, a chance for a new chapter and a new leaf in my life. I always ponder and wonder for days about what to wear, and I’m sure many girls would agree! Should you wear sparkles? Should you go all out? Should you keep it simple? Well I found the perfect Little Black Dress that is fun and yet simple for your New Years Eve shenanigans!
I love that this dress is a boobtube because it gives that element of fun, and look at those ruffles on the dress! It gives the dress a little bit of volume and yes it is just too fun to twirl around in. Whether you are going to a party or spending the night with friends at home, this dress is perfect for the occasion! I dressed it up with a pretty pearl and gold necklace, my new gorgeous Fossil watch (drool), and some sparkly heels. This is the one night of the year where there is no such thing as too many accessories so dress up, put on those heels and have fun!
PS How fun are my “Party” balloons? I found them at Mr. Price Home for 50 bucks and just had to have them!:)
