Hi guys! Today I am guest posting on Charlenes blog! I have loved Gee Whiskers since before I started blogging so make sure to check out her awesome blog which is her space for simple, beautiful things 🙂
I am not going to hide this- I am a fan of Valentine’s Day. Not that I ever needed an excuse to eat chocolate, but there is something about the joy and love in the air that day that makes me smile. I’ve loved it since I was in school and my feeling about the day have not changed when I grew up, in fact they are even stronger! What can I say, I am a hopeless romantic.
Last Valentine ’s Day Steve(le BF) and I made plans a week before the day – we were going to go for dinner at our favourite Chinese restaurant and watch a romantic movie afterwards. We always get each other little gifts for the day and I got his that Monday(Valentines was on a Thursday) and called him that afternoon to tell him how excited I was for Valentines. But as it often happens, life had other plans. That night Steve was in a big car accident. He was incredibly lucky and only came out of it with a lot of bumps and bruises and a concusion. That meant that we scraped all of our previous plans as Steve was on bed rest and I was just happy that he was alright. On the morning of Valentine’s Day I left early to get to my lectures at varsity. Steve snuck out of the house to the shop by us, and got me this beautiful wooden sign as a gift. I was so surprised and delighted to see it when I got home because even when he wasn’t feeling well , he still did something so nice for me. I know this all sounds super cheesy, and Steve would kill me for telling this(he is not normally this romantic) but that’s why I wanted to incorporate the sign into my outfit look for this Valentine ’s Day. It means a lot to me and I keep it by my bedside next to our photo.
I thought this Legit dress would work perfectly for a Valentine’s day look- it is so soft and feminine, and the heart cut out on the dress is the perfect addition. Of course I wanted to keep the soft look going with light curls, purple eye and pink lip-gloss. The shoes are a perfect peach match for the dress, and I do plan on wearing this outfit on Friday. Steve and I are not doing anything big this year, but I can’t ever miss an opportunity to dress up. I hope everyone has a wonderful day on Friday and no matter how you feel about Valentines, remember to never let your loved ones go.
