I hate Murphy. That son of a gun always ruins everything. Just as I finished writing my exams(on a Saturday of a long weekend no less),I came down with yet another round of flu, that I got over just a month ago. Since I can’t pose in my pink robe for an outfit of the day, I thought I’d share my look from a wedding I went to in April.
I was very excited, as this was the first wedding in South Africa that I was fortunate to attend! Having no family or close relatives in SA, and my friends still being quite young for marriage, I was super excited to be a plus one for le boyfriend to his friends wedding. He is 25 and his friends have been dating for years and this was the first wedding that we attended together.

Of course, me being me, I wanted to dress up. I got this gorgeous peach dress the week after we received out invitation(eager!),which nicely coincided with the YDE R99 sale. I was lucky to score this dress which originally cost R750 and some other cute pieces at the sale. I loved the soft, flowing material of the dress and the sheer part at the bottom. Once the dress was picked out I bought the bag and the jewellery specifically for it( luckily I had the perfect shoes already).
My wedding essentials: lipstick, lip gloss and perfume 🙂 |
On the day I got my hair done, and it had a little bow at the back to add more girly-glam to my already over-the-top girly outfit(go big or go home). I tried to keep the make-up natural and soft 🙂
Going to the chapel and we’re gonna get married…oops wrong song |
Hair bow! |
It was freezing on the day so my white Zara trench came in handy. Fun fact: it has actually been worn by a bride on her wedding day as part of her going away outfit. Now it belongs to me and I love it. And even though the Steve Madden heels were beautiful, my poor feet could not handle it and I changed into pumps.

It was the most beautiful wedding and I can not wait to attend more weddings and wear more gitly dresses to party the night away in 🙂
