Spring With Poetry Stores

It feels like summer is officially here, and isn’t that just wonderful!? This is my favorite time of the year, I am a summer baby and the sights and smells of this season, with flowers blooming everywhere is one of my most favorite things in the world. Spring and summer fashion also excites me SO much because I love dresses, skirts and pretty shoes in colorful colors and beautiful patters. Dresses are always my favorite item of clothing to wear, so it was exciting for me to collaborate with Poetry Stores to shoot some of their beautiful things from the summer range.

I am an avid fan of Poetry Stores and their gorgeous items, from homeware to fashion. They are well known for their dresses and you can always tell when a dress is from Poetry, there is just a certain style that the brand carries through all of their collections. Many of their items are locally sourced and made in the country (such is the case with these two beautiful items that I picked). The store concept appeals to sophisticated women who want beautiful clothing, footwear, accessories, bath and body, confectionery and homeware. Poetry has definitely become a destination for women who long for clothes that are not found on the shelves of stores everywhere, as all of their items are really unique and beautiful!

You can shop their summer range over here, and these were my favorite two items from the collection. I loved this tiered shirtdress because of the light fabric and the pretty print. It is perfect to wear on a hot summer day, whether you are going to work or to a relaxed picnic with friends. These sort of dresses are great to have in your cupboard, as you can wear them anytime, anywhere (also, the waistband is stretchy, so I love wearing them when I am going for a big lunch) ;).

The second item that I picked and loved is this green jumpsuit. You can dress it up with some gorgeous earrings and a pair of heels, or you can dress it down with a pair of white espadrilles and a straw hat. I also thought that this color palette would be perfect for a safari type of feel, or it could also work for a fun beach holiday- can you tell that I love versatility in my items?

Do not forget that over on my Instagram page I am giving away a R500 Poetry voucher, so hurry, hurry, hurry 🙂

I look at this photo and I cannot believe that it I look at this photo and I cannot believe that it was taken a year ago, when we were fresh into a hectic lockdown and a whole pandemic 🥴(remember this pillow trend?😂) Back then I think all of us thought that this would last for a month only, and here we are just over a year later 😂😫It hasn’t been the easiest year for anyone by any means and I am proud of how much I’ve achieved personally, in the mentally hardest year of my life. I’m proud for the small things that I achieved like learning to cook more and finding time to exercise, as much as I’m proud of the big stuff, so today, I celebrate that! Celebrate all the wins that you’ve had in this past year no matter how big or small, because you are a star and you’ve made it over a year in the strangest time yet 🍾
