It’s time for my first outfit post of 2017! Funny enough I actually shot this post a little while back in 2016, but hey, better late than never right? Here in South Africa we are in the middle of summer which means beautiful warm nights and the midst of the wedding season! I myself would also prefer to get married in the spring or summer because I adore the warmer weather and all of the beautiful greenery and flowers that it brings with it! If you are a wedding guest this season I have a great outfit suggestion for you right here today.
In the past the biggest “no-no” when it came to a wedding guest outfit was wearing white. Look, I still agree with it to some degree- the bride should be the only one in white on her big day so maybe save your little white number for a sexy date night rather. Another rule that used to apply, but I don’t think it applies so much anymore, is to not wear black. I think in the past few years the fashion industry has banished that rule, and now you can look glamorous in a lovely black dress at a wedding. However my favourite rule to stick by is- while black or white are both great choices, rather go for some lovely colours and patterns. After all you go to a wedding to celebrate love and all things mushy, so why not dress up all colourful for it!
I love this floral number from Ted Baker- it’s got everything you need! It’s not too short or too long, the neck cut is interesting but not too revealing, a while it is navy colour, it’s got a beautiful pink flower pattern on it to brighten things up. I got this dress last year, but you can find a lovely floral versions to in right now at Forever New or online at Spree. I accessorized the dress with a cute little pink clutch and pink heels, because when it comes to all things love related, I love wearing pink and red. I am heading to a wedding myself this wedding season, and this is my outfit for it. What do you think?
Here’s to a great and fashionable start to 2017!
