I am lucky that I get to travel overseas at least twice a year, but I am not going to lie to you- packing for an overseas trip makes me break out in a sweat! I have a large collection of beauty and make-up products, and I hate playing favorites with my babies! However I can’t pack my whole beauty room into my luggage, so I usually pick my top beauty products to join me(it still ends up being a huge bag!). With my carry-on beauty products, it’s even more stressful because a)they have to be under 100 ml and b) it needs to be light due to the hand luggage allowance! I picked my creme de la creme of beauty and make-up items to travel with me based on those criteria, so today I am sharing with you what I had in my hand luggage beauty bag while traveling to Dubai.
Beauty Products
Your skin really suffers while on a flight, especially a long haul one. Our flight was 8 and a half hours, and given the aircon blasting like mad on the plane, I packed wisely. For hydration I always use Vichy Eau Thermale– the travel size version is light, and just a few sprays instantly refreshes my face(and helps me to get rid of “pillow face” after napping). The MAC Prep+Prime Essential Oils is the most amazing discovery I made this year. This guy is only 30ml,and you only need a few drops of it to cover your face. It smells amazing and benefits your skin by nourishing it and getting it make-up ready. The Vichy Idelia Eyes Contour is on hand to get rid of the dark circles, and make me look all fresh-faced as I get off the plane. Finally, nothing would be complete without the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Lip Balm. The only lip balm that can keep my lips from cracking while on a long flight!
Make-Up
Again less is more, as I try to pack light. That means that my beauty products needs to do a little multi-taking here, and I tend to pack 2-1 items. I have a full review of this Bobbi Brown Face Touch-Up Palette coming soon, and sorry it looks so messy-its because I use it everyday! It is one of the handiest compacts I own because it has a concealer, corrector, foundation and face powder in it! It eliminates the worry of having to pack all of those separate items, giving you the ultimate all-in-one palette(seriously, its magic).I use my Make-Up Bullet to apply the make-up with, its so light and fits into anything, so its a definite travel must-have. Another 2-1 product I love for flying is the Stila Convertible Colour in Peony. You use it on your cheeks for that little bit of colour and your lips for a bit of a tint. Again, saves you the hassle of carrying a blusher and a lipstick. The one product I don’t compromise on is my mascara, and my Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Lash Enhancing Mascara goes with me everywhere(sorry that’s also messy). And you gotta smell good when you get off the plane and straight into that business meeting(or in my case it was walking the streets of Dubai with Dimi) and this little guy smells nice and is compact- the DKNY Pure Rose is a long term favorite.
What are your go-to beauty products for a long flight?

Love the post! However , don’t you find that the Elizabeth Arden is absolutely amazing the first few swishes and then it becomes super clumpy? And its not as if I do yhe pump action to get the mascara out. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts xxx
