It has been a hot minute since I last posted, but work has been intense lately so I am literally typing this on a plane back from Cape Town, where I had to go for yet another meeting. Just as I felt that spring had sprung in Johannesburg, and I started wearing skirts and dresses, I went to Cape Town and its 13-degree weather! I am very grateful for all the rain that Cape Town has been receiving though, so I didn’t mind going back to boots and coats for a couple of days. However, spring is (almost) officially in the air and today I am sharing one of my favourite spring looks with you guys!
It is no secret that I have a love and obsession with midi skirts and as soon as the weather gets warmer, I whip them out and pair the skirts with different items. I have paired this same skirt with a black top before, but I really like pairing it with this white bodysuit because I feel like I look like a lemon meringue here, ha-ha 🙂 Its very spring inspired and a very soft look that is perfect for a birthday party, an event and paired with a blazer could be worn to work.
I like pairing pastel colours with more pastel colours, because then the look is not too contrasting and it looks very feminine. I got this Aldo bag last year, as I simply could not resist the cat design- as a self-proclaimed cat lady, this was speaking to me on a spiritual level ;). Tassel earrings are still a vibe for this spring/summer season, so make sure to invest in a pair or two! I do love the Lovisa ones but they are a little bit more expensive, so a great pair like this from Mr. Price is a very wallet-friendly purchase.
How do you feel about midi skirts? I honestly think that is it is something that will never go out of style, because good old-fashioned midi skirts will always be a staple in your wardrobe. I have just added another one to my collection- my friend Leanne from Arum Lilea has launched a beautiful new collection and the Spring Blossom midi skirt had my name all over it, so I ordered it! Expect a look with it soon 🙂
