❗️This is your friendly reminder to check your passport and it’s expiry date ❗️I know that we’ve all barely touched our passports this year, so make sure that you check that your passport and that it is still valid. I’m not saying that this happened in my household(cough cough, it wasn’t me because I know the exact date that my passport expires), but a certain gentleman forgot that his document will not be valid 6 months from now, and he had to break the news to his new wife recently, who was really looking forward to a trip to the Maldives. I don’t know who this poor guy is, because could you imagine how angry I would be with him?🥺😂Anyways, we are doing a local mini-moon instead(really excited for some bush time!) and Steve has booked his appointment to renew his passport in a couple of weeks time- let’s hope that the Maldives waits a little longer for us after our big wedding 💕

Where to find Jacaranda Trees in Johannesburg 🌸

Where to find Jacaranda Trees in Johannesburg 🌸 The question that is blowing up my inbox, so here you go 😄PS I’ve tried to mention actual streets, but the amount of blooms honestly changes from season to season. What I recommend is going to these below neighborhoods and then driving around one or two streets, to see which one has the most blooms for you to snap pictures at 🌸
1. Rosebank and Saxonwold
This is where we took these photos, just off Oxford Street before Rosebank Mall, if you are driving from the M1 side. We drove up and down a few streets before finding this one which was just on purple fire 💜 For guaranteed Jacaranda views try
Jellicoe Lane and Tyrwhitt Avenue in Rosebank, they are slightly busier than your neighborhood streets but are filled with purple tunnels 💜
2. Waverley and Melrose
Waverley is where we took pictures last year, as the streets there are slightly quieter and just so gorgeous. There’s a couple of streets just off Louis Botha Avenue before St Mary’s School that are filled with Jacarandas. In Melrose try Jameson Avenue as well as Victoria Avenue 💜
3. Kensington
This historic little neighborhood is filled with pretty purple blooms this time of year. Highland Road and Juno Street are a guarantee, but also try any street off Sovereign Road, as there are lots of pretty and quiet streets in Kensington 💜
4. Melville
I used to love this neighborhood as a student, and would drive past it after my exams so I could see all of the Jacarandas on my way home. 4th Avenue is filled with Jacarandas, but take a drive around the whole of Melville, plus make sure to stop for a coffee and a lunch at one of its famous cafes.
5. Westcliff
And of course, there’s the Four Seasons Hotel in Westcliff where you can see the Jacaranda Trees from another angle, as in all the way from the top! Book a high tea or a lunch at the Flames Restaurant and make sure to ask for a table on the terrace because the view from up top onto a sea of purple is simply gorgeous! 😍 #jacarandainyourpocket
