Essie Resort Collection

Happy Monday beautiful people! It’s the last month of summer here in South Africa (technically, I mean it will still be warm here until mid- April;)) and I am trying to enjoy it as much as I can! We have had 8 heat waves this season, so it has really been one hot summer! I didn’t get to go away over December due to work, but this Essie resort collection sure had me dreaming of sandy beaches and blue, blue sea, but hey maybe a visit to Italy next month will soothe my pain?;) This gorgeous collection is only available for a little while longer, so grab these babies while it (and by “it” I mean the weather) is hot!

The collection consists of 4 pretty colors- Suite Retreat, Cocoa Karma, Time For Me Time and Stones N Roses. I was in love with 3 out of the 4, so lets take a closer look!

Stones N Roses

stones n roses

This was my favorite color from the collection, which is a very pretty petal pink coral. It has a lovely crème consistency and one coat was enough to get a full coverage but as usual, I used two and a topcoat. I’ve worn this all summer around on my toes and my nails, and during wintertime I am sure going to miss summer when I look at this color! It comes out a lot more vibrant on the nails then in the bottle which I loved.

Suite Retreat

Another favorite of the collection is this blissed out blue orchid color. On the nails it actually gives a beautiful purple tinge, so I would honestly say it’s more on the purple side of things. Again one coat was enough for the color to come through beautifully- such a gem!

Time For Me Time

As much as I loved the name of this iridescent blush sheer pink color, I wasn’t a fan of how it applied and how it looked on the nails. It took a good 3 coats for the shimmer and the pale pink color to come through. Its great for your everyday kind of color or if you like for your nails to be a bit subtler, but for a resort collection I was a bit underwhelmed. I also didn’t enjoy the consistency- it applied very streaky no matter how many times I tried.

Cocoa Karma

Just this cute name reminds me of the song “Copacabana” for some reason! I think of a tropical getaway and this pretty color on my nails. It’s a molten chocolate brown and it has the consistency of just that- a smooth chocolate! I would use two coats with this one, and due to its work-friendly hue I would recommend investing in this color the most!

Excuse the bad swatch, sometimes I only get to take photos in the evenings 🙂

The Essie Resort collection is available at select salons and spas and retails for R125 each.Keep an eye out on the blog next week for an exciting Essie giveaway!

🍷 Favourite wine farms in Cape Town 🍷 It’s 🍷 Favourite wine farms in Cape Town 🍷
It’s been a tough time for the wine industry in the last year so why not still support your fav wine farm if you can, by going there for a meal? We recently did just that when we were in Cape Town and headed to @quoinrock for a delectable picnic 🧺 . Here are some other wine farms that I love not only for their delicious wine but also for their cheese platters, yummy lunches and crazy beautiful views. Drop your favorites below because sharing is caring and let’s support our local wine industry 😊
🍷 @cavalliestate - I mean obviously, it’s why we chose it as a wedding venue! Their food is SO good, I’ve had it a few times now and even though their seasonal menu changes often, I can safely say that anything that you order from their menu will be divine 🤤
🍷 @capepointvineyardsofficial One of the best cheese and charcuterie boards I’ve ever had was here! The views are beautiful because you see the beach AND the vineyards at the same time 😍
🍷 @beauconstantia - If you’re feeling like treating yourself then head on over to Chefs Warehouse that is in Beau Constantia, or enjoy a cheese board in the wine tasting area, overlooking some gorgeous vineyards .
🍷 @leopardsleap - Lovely for a birthday or a special occasion, Leopards Leap offers a Family Table experience which is a mouthwatering selection of starters, mains and desserts, prepared just for you🤤At R395 a person it’s a great deal for the awesome meal that you get, believe me I’ve tried it!
🍷 @babylonstoren - a bit of an obvious one, but I can’t help but love this place 🤷🏻‍♀️You can have a foodie experience at their Babel restaurant or a relaxed lunch at the Greenhouse.
Tell me what your favorites are that I must visit next time 🍷
My actual excited face when I heard that my favori My actual excited face when I heard that my favorite TV show Sex And The City is coming back for another season!😆😆😆 It’s no secret to anyone that knows me that I absolutely love the show(and watch on repeat all the time) and Carrie Bradshaw has definitely been one of my biggest style inspirations over the years. She was the biggest inspiration behind my wedding ceremony look(as she married her Mr Big in a white suit with the gorgeous blue Manolos too 😉)and she has inspired many of my looks over the years. From the 80s-vibe black jumpsuit that I wore in the streets of New York to whimsical tutu and tulle skirts that I bought because of her, Carrie has been a constant source of #OOTD inspiration for me! Are you as excited as I am about the reboot? Also which of these looks is your fav?

Back to work today with a fabulous outfit 💃🏻 Back to work today with a fabulous outfit 💃🏻Lol, just kidding, my back to work outfit today was another glamorous pairing of some workout tights and a T-shirt while we continue to work from home 🚶🏻‍♀️I’m not complaining though, but I also can’t wait for the day when I will wear proper workwear again one day. Are you back to work today as well or still on holiday?👩🏻‍💻
Someone: Nice dress!

Bush baby vibes 🦒Please recommend some good bus Bush baby vibes 🦒Please recommend some good bush lodges under this post 🙏🏻I recently spent some time at the Kruger National Park with my parents and while we had an amazing time in the park and managed to see the Big 5, our lodge was anything but fabulous, and it came with a hefty price tag so we were a bit disappointed 😩What are your recommendations, within a reasonable price range of course 😉, of some lovely lodges in the bush? I would love to do more local trips in 2021 🙌🏻
