Lookbook-Floral For Fall

One of the main reasons as to why I love fashion so much, is the way it makes me feel. I love how a good pair of shoes can sky-rocket my confidence, how a well fitted pair of jeans can make me feel like I’ve still got it, and how a beautiful dress can make me feel like a princess. I love dresses. LOVE them. Any time of the year, any time of the week and on any occasion. I love the classic little black dress that I can wear on date night, a light summer frock that I can feel free in on the beach and a beautiful fancy dress that I could wear to a wedding or a party. When this dress arrived in a big pink box complete with a huge pink bow on it, I knew that something special was inside it, and I wasn’t wrong. I was completely smitten with this gorgeous dress from Lipsy and these pictures reflect it!

I’ve loved the Lipsy brand ever since it was only available in select little boutiques in Joburg(it is now available in select Edgars stores). I remember saving up for a stunning smoked grey frock with diamantes on it which I wore to one of my friends 21sts. When it comes to occasion dressing such as bridal showers, birthdays and weddings, Lipsy is always one of my first stops. I love how the shape of their dresses always hugs my body just right, showing off the good bits and strategically hiding the parts that I’m not so fond off. This dress was no exception- I love how it fitted around the chest (and the fact that you can still wear a strapless bra with it as the back of it allows for it) and how it flowed from the waist down.

Where would you wear such a dress? While it’s probably best suited for the warmer weather, it would look great paired with a gorgeous faux fur jacket over it in the colder months. Its tea length makes it suitable for just that- a high tea, especially one that’s celebrating a bride. And of course if I was younger, I would have definitely stopped at Lipsy when shopping for my matric dance- so many options including this one!

We took these photos at The One and Only with Tegan and it was my first time working with her, which I really enjoyed (stay tuned for more pics soon!). My review of The One And Only will be up on the blog on Wednesday, so make sure to check back and read the 10 reasons why you should make it your number 1 choice for a getaway this winter!:)
