Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, which usually gets the world divided into 2 types of people- the ones that love the day and the ones that despise it. I’ve been clear on my view about the day before- the world is so full of cruel things and sad times, that I love any excuse to celebrate love! I just see it as another day to express my love to my nearest and dearest and yes, why not get an extra day to do it? Yes, you should be doing it every day, but the reality is that we all get whisked away by the daily grind, so taking that extra day to celebrate love is all what I’m about it. My favourite part about the day? An extra date night and an extra reason to shop for a little sexy dress to wear to it!
We usually plan a nice little dinner for Valentine’s Day or some sort of a fun activity. Last year we went to Picnics in the Park to watch Casablanca, and this year we are going to Monte Casino for a nice Italian dinner (my fav!) and a movie. A special occasion calls for a special dress, so I headed off to River Island last week to find the perfect date night dress. There were plenty of lovely items on offer, but this crushed black velvet dress with a low-cut neckline caught my eye straight away! I’ve always enjoyed the velvet trend (can you tell I’m a 90s girl?). I loved the fit of the dress and that it is a little sexy- the perfect little black dress for Valentines Night!
And the shoes- the shoes! When I first saw a picture of them on Dune London’s Instagram I had a shoe-gasm! I’ve been lusting after a beautiful pair of shoes with studs on them, so these babies had to become mine. They look amazing paired with a dress or with pants, and I have already worn them to work and had all the girls drool over them. I finished the look with a little chocker in the same texture as the dress to pull the whole look together. What do you think? I can’t wait to wear the whole look on Thursday evening and celebrate love! 🙂
