As usual, I have been MIA for the past month, but I promise, this was the last time! We had our Cape Town store opening in August, and it came with its turns and hiccups, which left me “stranded” in the Mother City for an extra week! I use the term “stranded” very loosely, because actually I was in a hotel, looking at the gorgeous Table Mountain while I worked. The time in Cape Town was the best time that I had this year, for many reasons- my amazing work team, all of the fabulous food that we ate, and all of the exploring that we got to do! When the lovely Lorinda from 4Elements found out that our team was stranded in Cape Town, she decided that she was going to make our stay even more fun, by arranging me a luxury car to drive for one of the weekends, from Wiggle Car Hire. And what a luxury drive it was!
Look, I will be honest with you- I don’t understand cars hugely, but I do understand luxury. Having grown up with a dad who had a lust for luxury cars, I learned to appreciate the finer things in life such as a great ride, so when Wiggle delivered this beauty of a Range Rover to my hotel door, I was shook! Sometimes life just needs a spoil, and that spoil being a fabulous car hire. Wiggle offers a variety of convertible and hardtop cars, extending from luxury sports cars to supercars to 4x4s. For me, it was the perfect way to explore the beautiful Mother City on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon. I loved being spoiled with a smooth ride, and if you are looking for a great and luxury car hire in Cape Town, look no further than Wiggle!
Having to stay in Cape Town a little longer than I originally planned, brought one big issue for me- clothes! I expected to just be in store for a week, merchandising and getting things organized, so all I packed was branded UD T-shirts and ripped jeans. When news came in that we would be staying for an extra week, I immediately ran towards the shops (luckily, we were at the V&A ;)) and I popped into H&M to grab a couple of things.
I really loved this top- the revolution is indeed female! Currently there are also some great denim offerings at H&M so I snagged these comfortable jeans for just 250 bucks. Because my look for the day was relaxed, I paired it with some nice heels (luckily I packed those for the store opening night), and finished off the look with these fab sunniest from The Fix (there are also so many cute things there lately, I love it).
For the day, we adventured out to Hidden Valley in Stellenbosch to the Overture Restaurant. We picked the three course set menu, which was more like a six course meal after all! You get a pre-starter of crisp seasonal veggies, a starter of a few tapas-style food, a first course, a main meal, a pre-dessert (which was an ice-lolly), a dessert, and then some petit fours to finish of your feast. It was one of the best meals I had in Cape Town, and paired with our beautul ride, it made for one amazing Sunday!
PS As I found out, driving with the top down was not as smooth as I thought- make sure you pack a hairbrush with you to calm down the mane after the ride! 😉
