When I first started thinking about my wedding dress, I actually didn’t have an idea of what I pictured myself in. Would I be a summer bride or a winter bride? Do I see myself in long sleeves, or would I bare my shoulders? Would I show off my body in a mermaid style gown, or live out my dreams of looking like a princess on my big day with a big ball gown? I had no idea at all of what I would settle on, so I tried on about 50 dresses until I got to the one that I picked. However through this whole process I can tell you that I actually picked the dress closest to my personality type. I am a romantic at heart so my dress has a very feminine feel to it, but I am also pretty extra and over-the-top, hence my dress having a 5 meter long train.
My dress embodies exactly what my personality is like, so if I have one advice for a bride-to-be, it is to not waste your time with things that are not “you” when it comes to picking your wedding dress. If you are a traditional person, don’t look at the dresses that are not that, because at the end of the day you won’t feel comfortable in your own dress. If your personality is glamourous, then go for the sparkles and don’t doubt that more is more, if that’s what you always believed in. Your wedding dress should be an extension of your personality, and it should not make you feel like a complete different version of you, if you know what I’m saying? If you have never felt comfortable with a plunging neck-line, why try one out on your wedding day? If you always wanted a 10 meter long train ala Princess Di, then why are you doubting yourself now? What I can tell you is that your dress should be all about YOU, as this is YOUR special day, not your moms, not your bridesmaids and not your mother-in-laws!
With all of my learnings in mind, I had some serious fun with Bride And Co when we decided to collaborate on this post together, to help every bride find a dress for her personality. I felt right at home trying on all of these beautiful gowns, and while not all of them were for me, I couldn’t deny that all of them are so gorgeous! So if you are in search for your perfect wedding dress, I hope that the below information helps you! Have a read and see which dress, quote and style you identify with the most, then make your booking at Bride And Co and go on and try the dress!
The Fashionable Bride
Quote That You Live By: Every day is a fashion show and the world is your runway.
Have you been stalking Pinterest for the latest wedding dress trends? Do you want a dramatic entrance to your walk down the aisle, but then an outfit change for your walk into the reception (so everyone goes “Wow!)? Do you think that an isle is not just an aisle, but your runway? Then this gorgeous dress is for you! This is one of my favorite dresses that I tried on because it just has a certain pizazz to it! This is right on trend for 2020 with the gorgeous tulle skirt and the white lace on the beautiful nude underskirt, and this dress will make you the hottest bride ever.

The Feminine Bride
Quote That You Live By: Some people are settling, some people are settling down, and some people refuse to settle for anything less than butterflies.
It’s all about the soft touches of lace, and beautiful A-line skirts for you. You are a romantic bride and you’ve probably dreamt about this day since you were a little girl. Your dress is a full skirt and lots of lace, and you will probably walk down the aisle to a beautiful serenade by Ed Sherran (okay, fine, this is me ;)). I am totally a romantic bride myself, with my ceremony dress featuring lace details and lots of tulle. I totally loved this dress because it has a gorgeous back, and the cheeky pockets add an unexpected element of fun to it! If you feel like the neckline is too low for you, you can always add a bit more tulle or lace to cover it up.

The Glamourous Bride
Quote That You Live By: Shine is my favorite color.
You are a force to be reckoned with, and one hell of a glamazon! You love sparkles and sequence, and you know that guac is extra-just like you. I can’t quite explain how gorgeous this dress is, and the entire dress is beaded with little crystals, from the sleeves to the midriff and right down to the train of the dress. Its stark white coloring would look gorgeous against a winter setting, and I could easily picture myself in this dress, with the red lipstick on! If you are a glam bride, then this number is for you!
The Class Act
Quote That You Live By: Less Is More
It’s all about simplicity for you, and your wedding dress will be just about that. This beautiful gown was inspired by Meghan Markles wedding dress and it’s a gorgeous satin sheath silhouette. The bare shoulders add a touch of intimacy to the look which I really love. A dress like this will stand its own ground through decades to come, and it will look classic no matter if its 2020 or 3020.

The ready-to-party bride
Quote That You Live By: Friday is my second favorite F word.
If you’re a party bride, then you are looking for a gorgeous dress that you could easily breakdance in, and guess what- I am that bride! I can’t show you which dress I picked yet (let me leave that as a surprise) but the reason that I chose it is that I want to be super comfortable during our reception and the party. Both Steve and I are really looking forward to partying it up with our friends and family from all over the world, so I chose a beaded fit-and-flare gown from Bride And Co for this. It does have a bit of a plunging neckline(as I also wanted to bring sexy back) and a gorgeous back, so this is a dress for a bride that ready to break it down on her big day. Here is a bit of a sneak peak!

The Elegant Bride
Quote That You Live By: A girl should be 2 things- classy and fabulous.
This dress embodies the elegant bride for me, the one that wants to be classy on her wedding day, but still wants to have a bit of fun with the style of the dress. This is a beautiful dropped-waist gown that could be converted into a mermaid style, if you take in the back a bit tighter. The soft beading on top of the lace on the top part of the dress is understated in real-life but really comes to life in photographs, and the bottom part is soft and feminine.
