I must have blinked, and just like that 2019 is almost over. It has been a very crazy busy year in my life, and I must be honest in saying that my blog, my happy little escape from reality, has completely fallen by the waist side. Between starting a new job in April, planning a wedding, and all of my travels, finding spare time to do something that I enjoy has been very difficult. I hope that in 2020 I find a better balance between work and personal life, because work very much overtook this year (thankfully I have a very understating fiancé who doesn’t mind waiting up for me while I get back from work and happy to share the home chore load with me!). Before 2019 is officially over, I thought I would share one last outfit, and wrap up 2019 with a little post!
Firstly about the outfit- working a lot hasn’t stopped me from still loving fashion, in fact shopping is probably one of my escapes! I thought that an outfit like this would be great as some New Year’s Eve Inspiration (check out my post from last year over here) or a Bachelorette party. This pink silk skirt is available at Zara and is a GREAT piece! I wear it work with a white T-shirt often, or you can add a lace crop top like this one and you’re good to go to a party. I paired it with some heels from Superbalist (FYI their name brand shoes are so awesome and comfy) and the cutest little clutch from Tessa Accessories at YDE. We shot this look at Shucked, which is where I will be having my bridal shower, and I will wear this look to Royale (which is just downstairs from Shucked) the night before my bridal shower when the girls and I go on a night out!
I don’t want to dwell too much on 2019, but of course it was a year of many things from me. From getting engaged, to moving house, to starting my new role, the year was full of blessings. I have LOVED wedding planning and feel right on my element- you can check out my two wedding posts over here and here, and I promise to share all of the details next year for the brides-to-be, and all of my contacts and learnings. I have also really enjoyed my new job as a Senior Brand Manager for Maybelline, the highlight of it being our Record Breaking Shade Matching Event in September(we literally broke a world record!) and my trip with Maybelline to New York Fashion Week(what a time!).
In 2020, besides the obvious things like wedding and honeymoon, I am looking forward to just being married and enjoy the newlywed life with my new husband. In terms of work, I am looking forward to being more grounded in my job and not feel as overwhelmed as I did this year, learning how to be a manager and learning a new brand. I also turn 30 next year (eeeek!) so I am expecting some sort of a meltdown a couple of months before and counting everything that I haven’t managed to achieve yet ;). I’m just kidding of course 🙂
Wishing you a lovely festive season and I hope that 2020 brings you everything you wish for, and more!
