Outfit Of The day – In The Papers

ootd in the papers

Happy Hump Day guys! I put up all of my Christmas trees and decorations yesterday because guess what- it’s less than a month to go woohoo! I am so excited to start with all of my Christmas features next week, and today I am sharing an outfit that I think would look great from the office to the Christmas party!

I got this gorgeous GJC by Gert-Johan Coetzee skirt of off Spree a couple of months ago when they launched a boutique section on the website. I remember seeing the skirt in Gerts fashion show in April so when I saw that it was available online, I had to go for it. When it arrived I was a little bit concerned about the size- I ordered a 34, and it seemed to be a little big around the waist and a little long. I wasn’t expecting the skirt to be so long, and all of the other mid-length skirts that I have, always ended above the knee. When I exchanged it for a smaller size, the length of the skirt was still there, and once I tried it on again, I loved it. It’s a great length to wear to the office and out, and looks amazing with a pair of lace heels. And the newspaper print is gorgeous- so Carrie Bradshaw circa 2000.

If you are wondering why I am looking so tanned, it’s because this is me on my second day after the Vita Liberata spray tan. I look like I just stepped off the beach, and I love it! How I wish I could always look so tanned and healthy. I paired the skirt with this “Vague” top to make it look a little more fun and less formal, and a bold red lip with a big top-knot finished off the look.

I look at this photo and I cannot believe that it I look at this photo and I cannot believe that it was taken a year ago, when we were fresh into a hectic lockdown and a whole pandemic 🥴(remember this pillow trend?😂) Back then I think all of us thought that this would last for a month only, and here we are just over a year later 😂😫It hasn’t been the easiest year for anyone by any means and I am proud of how much I’ve achieved personally, in the mentally hardest year of my life. I’m proud for the small things that I achieved like learning to cook more and finding time to exercise, as much as I’m proud of the big stuff, so today, I celebrate that! Celebrate all the wins that you’ve had in this past year no matter how big or small, because you are a star and you’ve made it over a year in the strangest time yet 🍾
