I always struggle writing about foundation, because it’s quite difficult to describe how it makes you feel. Foundation is something very personal, and honestly I only change my foundation couple of times a year if that. Ever since I layed my hands on the Clarins True Radiance foundation in March, it hasn’t left my beauty bag and now in May the new Everlasting Foundation+ joined the beauty arsenal . The great thing is, whatever you skin type or your concerns, Clarins has a foundation for you.
I have combination skin, which means shopping for a foundation is easy for me-I can really wear any kind of it. Both foundations come in a sturdy glass packaging which makes it all luxurious, and both are equipped with little pumps inside them. So which one of these foundations is for you? Well that all depends on the type of skin that you have and what your concerns are. Let me walk you through it.
True Radiance Foundation
This product won at the Elle Beauty Awards earlier this year, and for a good reason. Its simply fantastic! It’s very light and fluid on your skin but yet still provides a great amount of coverage. It also has an SPF 15 in it, and evens and illuminates your skin. Here is the thing though- I would really only recommend this foundation for people with dry to normal skin. Even though the foundation contains no oil, it radiates your face in a big way(which is a big yay for me), so if you already have an oily skin, without the use of a mattifying product you risk making your skin appear even more shiny. If you have combination, dry or normal skin, then you will love it! It adds such a glow to your face, people will ask you what kind of magic you’ve been using. My shade here is 110(called honey), and I simply adore this foundation(its available in 9 other colours). It lasts a whole day easily, but sometimes I do like to re-apply it through out the day as the “glow” of it can fade out a little bit.
Everlasting Foundation +
The Everlasting Foundation+ is also a goodie, and its hard for me to choose between the two. This one I feel gives me more coverage, last longer and is more matte on your face. Again, I would recommend this to girls with a more oilier skin- when I am having a particularly dry skin day(which is often with Joburg winters), the foundation can look a little bit dry and “caked on”. However if you are looking for a foundation with a maximum coverage like this one, you can always mix it in with your moisturizer and wear it like that. It says it lasts 18 hours, and while I haven’t quite tested that(I need my beauty sleep!), I can vouch for the fact that it will last you all day long without the need of re-application.Its also available in a whopping 17 shades, so whatever your skin tone is, you will find the perfect shade for you.
To conclude my thoughts, I prefer the True Radiance foundation for an easy day out when my skin is behaving and I want to add a bit of glow to my face, and I prefer the Everlasting Foundation+ when I know I will be having a long day and I want maximum coverage. Visit you nearest Clarins counter to try these babies out, and you wont be disappointed!

I used to always wear Clarins foundation but haven’t tried any for a few years. I’m quite keen to try the long lasting one! My skin is being disgusting lately

I’ve never used any clarins products. Will definitely add these to my list when purchasing next time.

I’m so glad you did this post, as I have been wondering what the difference between the two is, and which one will be best for me. X

Do you use Everlasting Foundation in the same shade as you use True Radiance 110?
I think they might be different in range, is that right?
